Absolutely thrilled with this cozy darling mystery!

I am absolutely thrilled to find this cozy darling mystery! It is very much like a miss Marple. Clean and interesting. If there were five more books by this author and narrator I would buy them today!:)

Once you get into it....

It took me awhile to warm up to the characters. The inspector is a very nice man who couldn’t detect his way out of a paper bag but he is so kind to his household staff that they are eager to cover for him. Besides, detecting is so much more fun than housework! The plot is thin but Mrs. Jeffries and her staff are a nice crowd to hang out with. This one is for cosy fans only.

The narrator does a good job.

Won Over!

I'm normally not one for murder mysteries, but Miss Emily won me over with her cast of characters that made the mystery something they did. I fell in love with the series years ago and now I had the pleasure of enjoying Miss Lindy's marvelous narration, bringing each character to life in a different way than what I had in my head from reading the book. I say different, but it was only with accents, otherwise, she read them pretty much as I pictured them in my mind.

The cast has a nice family feel to them, who care about each other and make their own unique contributions to solving the mystery. I loved the book series and look forward to hearing the rest of the audio book series. I'm glad I found the audio books, they are a wish come true as the print book series had been.

A great little read

Comfy cozy mystery. I love the different characters in the household. I can picture this on pbs or acorn as a mini series. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I have loved these books since they were first published and still have the whole series in paperback somewhere. I was thrilled to find the first 12 were available on Audible. This series is the quintessential cozy mysteries, emphasis on cozy. What makes the stories so appealing to me is the wonderful interaction and relationships among Witherspoon's servants. That cast of delightful characters really "make" the stories. They're absolutely wonderful when you want something light to give your brain a rest, and I find them great for stress relief. The narrator was lovely and suits the book perfectly. I couldn't resist buying them in Audible format, even though I've read the books multiple times over the years.

Mrs. Jeffries is vividly portrayed. She's no-nonsense but very devoted to her employer.

Love this series

I love this series and I love Lindy Nettletons narration! Emily Brightwell is an amazing author, big fan, 10/10.

Great Story

The characters are so likable ! My only icky cringe was the Miss Bell from Colorado having the cornbread accent of someone from the deep south without an education nor etiquette. Someone doesn't know the states as they are at least thousand miles apart and sound completely differently nor the education and mannerisms of the classes. I really did cringe. I hope going forward in the series this is not a reoccurring issue, not sure if a can bare any more of it. Other than that truly awful mistake the rest was delish !

HUM.............

I really wanted to like this book. I love the cover and I enjoy stories set in England, but try as I might I just couldn't warm up to it. I did try 3 times. I liked that Mrs. Jeffery was covert about her investigations into the murder of the doctor and I liked that the other staff members enjoyed helping her. Beyond that, this book just wasn't for me.
