Great story, mismatched narration

Great story! The narrator was fantastic but it was initially difficult to relate his hyper masculine rugged voice with the first-person feminine characters. In a perfect world, different narrators would read the respective parts. But I understand that not all books exist solely for the audible experience 😅

Dan Riley ! Absolutely love him

This series is absolutely fantastic! I’ve enjoyed it so much . I’m addicted to Detective Dan Riley and all his escapades and adventures. , now that I’ve finished the last book , I have no clue what can match up and I’m hoping that there will be a book 8 very soon!! I can never get enough of this series, I’d recommend it to anyone , it’s a wonderful, thrilling read. The narrator was perfect for Dans character, he brought him to life for me. Anna Lou Weatherley is now definitely one of my all time favorite authors. Great work!!

Story Line Was Good

The storyline was very good, however as an audible listener, I found it very confusing to listen to. The same voice was used for every character. The chapters started without knowing which character was involved and you had to kind of get through a minute or two to figure it out. Overall, I did like the story I just think, the characters could’ve used different voices.

"The Housewife's Secret" is a 5-star addition to Anna-Lou Weatherley's Detective Dan Riley series.

Even though it's the seventh book in the "Detective Dan" series, it is an unputdownable stand-alone read.

Similar to the earlier books in this series, this gripping book is fast-paced and well-written; boasting super-compelling characterizations, a diabolical villain, unpredictable twists, and multiple jaw-dropping moments.

MY FAVORITE CHARACTER?
The protagonist's "consummate liar" mother with a penchant for draining the bank accounts of wealthy men.

I listened to the audiobook read by James Lailey, one of my favorite narrators.

James Lailey gave an Oscar-worthy performance.

Outstanding story and performance

I have been obsessed with English mysteries on audible for the last several years, and this is hands-down, one of my favorites. I am now about to look for all the other books I can find from this author. A+. 

She did it again!

I have several authors that I love but Anna Lou Weatherly is the best. I heart leaped when I got the notification that there was a new DI Dan Riley book from her. I love how she's able to catch the reader in less than a chapter. All her books are like that. This one was no different. You will start to figure it out at the end but true to form DI Riley and DS Lucy are always just a step ahead. Another great installment, can't wait for the next one! Oh, and the narrative by James Layley is always top notch!

Great storyline, kept me guessing, great performers, likeable characters with morals and integrity. Well-developed characters that I became fond of - or detested - as the story progressed. Nice ending with everything tied up in a bow.

Truth

This was an excellent book. I did have it figured out pretty early on but the ride was fun! I love her Dan stories. I feel like I know him lol! Loved it! Give it a listen!

It had my interest from the very beginning! Loved all the characters! Kept me looking forward to see how it all played out and didn’t disappoint! The ending was really good

The Dan Riley series are always great! The character and narrator pull you in from the beginning and never disappoint. Highly recommend!
