Another beguiling and devious British winner!

I do so prefer my British audiobooks. I’m revisiting this gripping thriller that warrants a second listen. It’s always a treat to find a hidden gem, and at no cost, an additional plus. “The Housemaid,” suspenseful and mysterious, is such a book. A favored author of mine, Sarah Denzil, interweaves menacing, conniving, charming and alluring family characters as they play their psychologically vexing and menacing games. This complexellent thriller is filled with suspicious and intricate subplots. Centering on a newly hired staff member with personal and private intentions of her own kept my attention from the very beginning. Ominous gifts arrive and secrets are kept; loyalties are questioned. Sophie Rundle’s narrative skills show off her proficient pitch-perfect vocals - a true testament to a compelling story. Kudos to these gifted women. Please, may we have more? An awesome nod to Audible for making this available. Highly recommended. Epic, indeed!

This book kept me wanting to read more. The narration was excellent. I love books where you know something is weird and you try to figure out what is going to happen.

Great mystery

I’m a light reader and don’t deeply think about the stories I listen too. I did really like this one. I liked all the characters, and found myself stopping and listening to the twists and turns.

I couldn’t stop listening

For an audible plus read, I was really truly expecting something that would just put me to sleep. That was not the case with this book, I found myself constantly pushing the extend 30 min and staying up long after my bedtime listening 😂 excellent book

Unexpectedly Captivating

I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. The narration was perfect and while a few parts were predictable, overall it was unexpected. I looked forward to my drives to and from work to listen!

thrilling and fill of surprises

honestly, got a bit lost and confused a bit in the mid-end, but over all the story was amazing. everytime I thought I had it figured out, there was a new twist.

Great Thriller!

Loved this well-written, beautifully read thriller. Much better than the average story about a brave young woman in a danger.
Scenes are wonderfully created in detail but not overly so. Same with characters & plot.
Not an intense, violent thriller. In fact, violence & romance/sex is not pushed in your face.
Refreshing & fun.
