great story well written. absolutely love the characters. kales sudden anger is a little forced n the novels so far are a touch juvenile but as I listen 8 hrs a day most days I'm always looking for a new series and I'm very glad to have given this a try. n for my final point I got 2 and a quarter books for one credit yahoo.p

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definately recommend this series to someone who appreciates sci-fi/fantasy. Very well executed and thoughtful characters. Yes, it is the age old premise of young person raised off the grid, so to speak, finding out he/she is gifted beyond that of others. But this story is set apart by the approach to this premise.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Fate's Forsaken Omnibus?

I will have to withhold judgement of this question until I have read and reread the books a few times.

Have you listened to any of Derek Perkins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first series I have hear by Mr Perkins and he could give lessons to Scott Brick on how to execute characters in a manner that is unpredictable without being repetitive. Or should I say, Mr. Perkins has the unique ability of maintaining the story line without becoming part the story. This is a series I can say I want to hear more than one or two times.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but I was convinced that it was going to take a few bouts before I got to the end very early on in the first book.

I was pleasantly surprised with this story and I anticipate the rest of the series, especially after reading the reviews for the following books.

1 1/2 issues

Chapter 17 is a accidental duplicate of 16, skip it. With that minor hiccup the story will devour you, because by the time you get to chapter 16 you'll have gotten used to such a husky voice used for the female characters.

I always enjoy Derek Perkins. I would say one of the defining things is humor. Great story and the characters wit makes it stand out. 5 stars

A very good book

I really liked this book. It seemed to be a little bit different than the regular fantasy genre.

Must listen. Be ready to laugh.

Awesome series. Shae Ford mixes whit and swashbuckling with a decent love story. This is a must listen. Will recommend it to anyone.

I was listening along, and found this to be so strange. I listened to book one, then book two, then the prologue novella. then randomly I was skipped into chapter 33 of book three which I didn't realize till I went back later to figure it out.... book three was completely ruined since i listened all the way through. DON'T BE TRICKED!

This series crept up to me.

I really wasn't expecting myself to like this series so much. I'll have to get the other books in this series.
