Extinction End

Almost seven weeks have passed since the Hemorrhage Virus ravaged the world. The remnants of the United States military have regrouped and relocated Central Command to the George Washington Carrier Strike Group. It's here, in the North Atlantic, that President Jan Ringgold and Vice President George Johnson prepare to deploy a new bioweapon and embark on the final mission to take back the country from the Variants.

With his home gone and his friends kidnapped, Master Sergeant Reed Beckham and his remaining men must take drastic measures to save what's left of the human race. But not everyone at Central Command has the same plan for victory. As the Variants continue to evolve, only a handful of heroes stand between the creatures and mankind's total extinction.

One way or another, the battle for the United States of America ends here.

Extinction Aftermath

Newly christened as the leader of Delta Force Team Ghost, Master Sergeant Joe Fitzpatrick arrives in Normandy over 70 years after Allied Forces joined the fight against the Nazis. The war to free survivors and eradicate pockets of adult Variants and their offspring is underway by the European Unified Forces. But as the troops push east, rumors of a new type of monster spread through the ranks. Fitz and his new team quickly realize that the fight for Europe might be harder than anyone ever imagined.

Back in the States, Captain Reed Beckham and Dr. Kate Lovato are settling into a new life on Plum Island. Across the United States, the adult Variants have all been wiped out, and the juveniles are on the run. But survivors soon realize there are other monsters at home, and they may be human.

As the doomsday clock ticks down and military bases fall across the country, the human race enters the age of extinction. Will science prevail - or will mankind vanish off the face of the planet?

The Series Gets Better And Better With Each Book.

At first I was thinking it was going to be another zombie story and I was lukewarm about it. But then after I got into it and realized that it was not just another zombie story, it really piqued my interest.
The plot and the story develops and moves quickly, with a lot of nuances that will hold your interest.
The characters are well-defined and if you have any sort of military background you will easily be able to identify with them.

As for the narration I will admit that in the beginning I almost passed it up when I saw that it was narrated by Bronson Pinchot. But then I remembered the excellent job that he did on another book, "Matterhorn:A Story Of The Vietnam War", so I decided to give it a chance.
And honestly, the narration of the first book was a little lackluster I thought. But with all the subsequent books Mr. Pinchot really ratcheted up the intensity and the excitement in his voice which made for a very good listen.
Overall I highly recommend this series.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Extinction Cycle Boxed Set, Books 4–6 to be better than the print version?

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Extinction Cycle Boxed Set, Books 4–6?

Riley and Meg's deaths.

What does Bronson Pinchot bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Not sure.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Riley and Meg died, especially the death bed scene between Meg and Fitz. Made me cry.

Any additional comments?

Absolutely hated Dr. Kate Lavato throughout the entire series! Wish she would have died instead of Meg.

Good series, excellent narration he really captures the characters. well paced with lots of action.

Good Deadspace/ zombie feel

Fantastic Narration and good story. Its hard to be completely original in a "Monster Apocalypse" Book, but the wrighter does a pretty good job.

edge of your seat thrilling story

everything about this series is amazing. the story line addicting and keeps you wanting more. definetly feel every loss as if you knew the charectors personaly.

Books 3 and four were fantastic and have you on the edge of your seat at all times the fifth book on the other hand had poor performance compared to the other four books and unfortunately the story just became too convoluted to follow.

I don't read sci fi. however I had extra credits and I picked up this author and I am so thankful. all the series are great. smoke a bowl ans listen to the series it lots of fun.

Top-notch military science fiction

I have been a big fan of military science fiction, since I discovered the Legion of the Damned series a few years ago. Extinction Cycle is a cross between a good zombie tale and military fiction. It gets a few things wrong, but the story is good enough to overcome the mistakes. Anyone who likes zombies or Delta Force will love this.
