New York Times
bestselling author Sarah Beth Durst invites you to her new standalone novel set in the world of The Spellshop! Follow her to The Enchanted Greenhouse, a cozy fantasy nestled on a faraway island brimming with singing flowers, honey cakes, and honeyed love.

Terlu Perna broke the law because she was lonely. She cast a spell and created a magically sentient spider plant. As punishment, she was turned into a wooden statue and tucked away into an alcove in the North Reading Room of the Great Library of Alyssium.

This should have been the end of her story. Yet one day, Terlu wakes in the cold of winter on a nearly-deserted island full of hundreds of magical greenhouses. She’s starving and freezing, and the only other human on the island is a grumpy gardener. To her surprise, he offers Terlu a place to sleep, clean clothes, and freshly baked honey cakes—at least until she’s ready to sail home.

But Terlu doesn’t want to return home, and as she grows closer with the unwittingly charming gardener, Yarrow, she learns that the magic that sustains the greenhouses is failing—causing the death of everything within them. Terlu knows she must help, even if that means breaking the law again.

This time, though, she isn’t alone. Assisted by Yarrow and a sentient rose, Terlu must unravel the secrets of a long-dead sorcerer if she wants to save the island—and have a fresh chance at happiness and love.

Funny, kind, and forgiving, The Enchanted Greenhouse is a story about giving second chances—to others and to yourself.

"Fans of Studio Ghibli's animated films will enjoy the way Caitlin Davies performs this enchanting story.... She knows how to complement the humor on the page with a colorful delivery." —AudioFile on The Spellshop

Wonderful sequel to book one. Loved the characters and the vibrant descriptions of all the flowers, plants, characters, and each specific voice. Loved the specific plant voices. :D. If there is an eventual book 3, I’d love to see the reunion of Cass and Thialu.

So, when is book three coming out? :)

While the vibrant cozy writing style and stellar vocal performance are just as amazing as the original. However the first 3 hours are rough due to an over talkative isolated character so the majority of the text is the main character talking out loud or to herself extensively to just fill the silence per se which can becoming grating at times.

After that however the story quickly opens up to a full cast and quickly but naturally fleshes out. The call backs to the original book near the end also make you tear up a bit. Overall an amazing book that will make you hungry(literally) for more of the cozy yet vibrant writing.

I never expected this to be better than The Spellshop, I was honestly scared it wouldn’t live up to it, but OH MY GOD WAS THIS BETTER. Terlu and Yarrow were spectacular MCs and their story was so beautiful and magical.

The narrator did such an incredible job with all the voices and in bringing this amazing story to life. I highly recommend

Cozy, Heartwarming, and absolutely beautiful

The start is a little sluggish and the main character does a bit too much explaining. I missed the familiar energy of the Spellshop crew and I prefer following Kiela's story. However, once the story shifts to the greenhouse setting, the visuals really came alive and I found myself preferring this island over Caltrey.

Still, the overall tone is cozy and soothing. It invites your mind to drift and imagine beautiful scenes long after you’ve finished reading.

Random Side note - I wish we could comment on each other's reviews but, did anyone else find the mention of Caz and Meep strange? I had imagined Meep as a baby, so that threw me.

Beautiful Atmosphere with a Bumpy Beginning

honestly, just what my inner child's needed while still hiting the marks of adult lessons to be learned. I really really enjoy Sarah Beth Dursts work because it's so sweet. it's exactly what we need in the world right now.
