It is written from the perspective of a surveyor, who, while surveying a rural area that is to be flooded near the town of Arkham, comes across a mysterious, abandoned farmstead, which is completely devoid of all life. At the center of the farmstead is an old well. The site fills him with an unnatural sense of dread, and, as it turns out, there is good reason for that feeling.

Like listening to the reading of a tech manual
The story is fine, I’m sure but I couldn’t make it far enough to say for sure. The voice is very artificial and takes away from a story that is supposed to be dark and ominous. More like listening to someone read stereo instructions. Will be asking for a refund. I can’t make it through the rest. Too bad.
