Albert Wilmarth, a professor of folklore at Miskatonic University, receives a curious piece of mail. It contains a recording of a man claiming that strange creatures live in the remote regions of the mountains of Vermont - just as described in old folklore. Its author presents compelling evidence and Professor Wilmarth eventually goes to Vermont to investigate for himself. What he discovers there is far, far worse than anything he could have imagined. Can the professor escape with his life and sanity, or will he become a part of a horror descended from interstellar space?

Powers of Darkness is an incredible literary discovery. In 1900, Icelandic publisher and writer Valdimar Asmundsson set out to translate Bram Stoker's world-famous 1897 novel Dracula. Called Makt Myrkranna (literally, 'Powers of Darkness'), this Icelandic edition included an original preface written by Stoker himself. Makt Myrkranna was published in Iceland in 1901 but remained undiscovered outside of the country until 1986, when Dracula scholarship was astonished by the discovery of Stoker's preface to the book.

Once again, well done and Haley entertaining.
In a world of CGI silliness, unbelievable superhero stupidity and explosions all over the place in all kinds of “entertainment” that lack any kind of depth or real thought, it’s refreshing to have something as entertaining as this. Every release truly brings the stories of HP Lovecraft to life. The best part about it, you have the best seat in the house: your own mind.

Superb Production, Chilling Story
The HP Lovecraft Historical society is back with all new episodes to thrill and delight you! This excellent edition was recorded remotely (a lovely PDF of notes is included), but as always the production is superb. Voice talent is incredible and it sounds like you are back in time. This tale is thrilling, creepy and fun. Be sure to pick up their efforts, they are excellent repeat listens.

excellent!
I think this was my favourite one so far I really enjoyed the atmospheric addition of the weather. And the acting was very believable 5 stars all the way ! !

Why are you reading this? GO GET THIS TITLE!
Honestly, the HPLS can churn these out all year long, and I will listen to everyone. They are incredible well put together, the acting is on point, the sound effectrs appropriate and not overdone, and, frankly, the whole thing feels like a theater going experience.
If you have any interesting in HO Lovecraft, his works, Cthulhu, or spooky stories in general: GET THIS. Get every title they ever have done or consider to put out.

If you love Lovecraft you can’t beat these audio dramas
A very creative and fine audio drama from the good people from the HPL Historical Society. I recommend this to any Lovecraft fan. Unless of course the Mi-go’s are on to you...
