my daughter's say this is the best book ever!
it's amazing to listen to a middle grade fiction book as an adult and be immediately sucked into the story. The characters feel incredibly real and it very much reminds me of the Nancy Drew books that I couldn't get enough of it as a child. Octavia Spencer is the narrator is second to none. I highly recommend this if you love audio books or if you're trying to introduce your kids to audio books. They won't be able to get enough.

My 8-year old loved it
My 8-year old thought that the story was slow in the beginning but when things picked up it got really exciting. She says it’s a great read for girl who don’t want to read about damsels in distress.
We listened to the book in the car and I have to say I zoned out occasionally while it kept my daughter engaged. I loved the diversity of the characters and themes of friendship never get old.

Quick Hitting Adventure
It's rare to hear an author who can perform her own work, and Octavia Spencer is one of those extraordinary writers who can. Octavia's range of characters is impressive, their many quirks and personalities come to life through her voice. The story is a quick, fun ride that readers and listeners of the genre will like. The characters are empowering, their struggles to be taken seriously will resonate with anyone who has been, will be, or is currently in the middle grades.
