Acerca de esta escucha

When a fiendish fraudster has been fomenting financial falsehoods, who can find the finagler?

The World’s Greatest Detective Agency, of course!

Staffed by the eccentric man who calls himself Sherman Holmes and aided by his ever-composed assistant Watson, the duo will take on cases other agencies might consider helpless, hopeless, or downright preposterous.

Which is how our fearless fellows find themselves investigating a Renaissance faire’s cooked books, with the finger of guilt pointing directly at their client. To prove his innocence, Sherman and Watson will have to join the revelry, triumph in challenges, deal with an unusually aggressive parrot, and uncover the true origins of the seemingly cheerful faire.

About the Creator

Drew Hayes is an author from Texas who has written several books and found the gumption to publish a few (so far). He graduated from Texas Tech with a B.A. in English, because evidently he's not familiar with what the term “employable” means. You can read more of his growing work at his website, www.drewhayesnovels.com, send him mail and movie offers at Novelistdrew@gmail.com, or just follow his Twitter: @DrewHayesNovels. Hayes has been called one of the most profound, prolific, and talented authors of his generation, but a table full of drunks will say almost anything when offered a round of free shots. Hayes feels kind of like a D-bag writing about himself in the third person like this. He does appreciate that you're still reading, though. Hayes would like to sit down and have a beer with you. Or a cocktail. He's not here to judge your preferences. Hayes is terrible at being serious, and has no real idea what a snippet biography is meant to convey anyway. Hayes thinks you are awesome just the way you are. That part, he meant. Hayes is off to go high-five random people, because who doesn't love a good high-five? No one, that's who.

Through numerous projects at Audible Studios, he has also been nominated for two Audie Awards (Best Nonfiction, 2013 and Best Fantasy, 2018). His first full-length play, Bernie and Mikey’s Trip to the Moon, received its Off-Broadway debut in 2018 at 59E59 Theaters. Aiello is a graduate of The Juilliard School of Drama (Group 41).

Fun and entertaining listen, only complaint is the length, thank you, and keep them coming.

my favorite so far.

Drew delivered a delightful diatribe deluged with dark deeds, deliriously demented dialog and desperate daring-do. I loved it!

Conspiracies and Costumes

The diversity of Drew Hayes’ novels is one of his greatest assets. His passion for D&D style games is evident in most of them, and in this case it is on display in the form of a Renaissance Faire. The majority of the story takes place there.

A side benefit of the fair is that Sherman’s peculiar dictations are perfectly suited for this type of setting, helping him blend in easily. It is Watson who has concerns of not fitting in during this story. Yet, he eventually finds his niche.

Action, antics, and sleuthing ensue in the story, in fairly equal measure. Throughout the story some additional tidbits of information regarding Sherman’s clarity window are revealed. Also, more news about their unknown foe, as well ass some new players in the long term plot, is uncovered.

Scott Aiello continues to do a great job with this series.

Present day love letter to the greatest fictional detective.

Just another win from one of my favorite authors. The narrator does a fantastic job as well.
