Never make a bet with a man who plays to win....

Especially not a man like handsome, arrogant Connor Pratt. A.k.a. the huge PITA who's currently crashing in my spare room. A.k.a. my brother's best friend since they were about six. A.k.a. the one guy who still makes me feel like an awkward tongue-tied loser.

But when Connor moved in, I got a glimpse of another side of him. Because, like me, Connor's going through a nasty break-up. And, like me, he's just doing whatever he can to get through it.

I'm just trying to be helpful when I tell him that he should try my method: copious amounts of baked goods, sappy romantic comedies, and late nights spent whining with girlfriends.

But I should have known Connor would take that as a challenge. Now, he says he'll try my way of dealing with a break-up...but only if I agree to try his. Six month's rent to the person whose method works best.

We call it the break-up bet. And I'm going to win. Except right now, it feels like there's a whole lot more at stake than just rent money....

Happily recommend; my only dislike was the female voice created by the male narrator - it was irritating for me

Good storyline

I've read the reviews over the narrators and I agree with them all. She's speaks slow, monotone, and sounds older than I imagine the character. I a risky preferred her soaking portion FAR better than his. He spoke WAY too fast, like a squirrel on espresso! He spoke too energetic for the mature male role and his female voice sounded like Pinky from the original Grease movie. It was almost too much for me to even finish.

The writer should really vet this before releasing the audiobook. I know it was his voice but it makes me almost shy away from her stories. 😑

I love a good friends to lovers story. This one was 🔥

I loved the story line and all the spice lol. The book was also short and sweet. Made me kind of wish it was a little bit longer.

The storyline

I thought this was a different storyline then any book I've read so far and it kept my interest. I was hesitant about the book in the beginning because I am not a fan of the male narrator but luckily the female narrator spoke more than he did so it turned out okay.

Good story

Didn’t think I would like it but I finished the book in 2 days. Male narrarator is ok. But I got thru it . Good and funny .

Fun Listen

This was a fun one. It's a sweet friends to lovers story with quirky girl and her Brothers best friend. I did like that we didn't get much conflict from the brother angle. I loved how the relationship developed. It was filled with a lot of laughter and great banter between the characters. I loved the friends group. I would have liked to see a little bit more of them together as a couple but overall I enjoyed this story and the narration was done well.

Cute story although predictable!

Easy listening storyline. Characters were well developed. The male narrator took away a lot of the appeal. His voice seemed forced and didn’t flow. The female narrator was strong!

Great story

the story was sweet and well written. however the male narration grinded on my nerves. he had a very surfer style way of speaking. some may feel it fit the book. I disagree. and his attempt at a female voice make her seem whiny and childish. I don't know if I'll listen to many books that he's on. so if u can get past the few times he's narrating then this is a pretty good book.

Lucky's Weird Thinking

I have never heard ANY woman compared herself against any type of food before. The story was good but it dragged on to much about comparing Olives and Cookies or any other food mixture that doesn't work together. Also, did you write another book about Tess & Noah? I'm interested in completing the series cause I can't find it.

A great storyteller

I actually love Alexander as a narrator. The female has a nice voice but I needed a little more from her, she was a little flat for my taste. Alexander is more dynamic. The girl in the book ultimately gets to a good place but man, she was difficult for me to like which was surprising as I have liked the other female protagonists in Cat’s other novels. Can’t wait for Tess’s story!
