I grew up a Christian, went to church and Sunday School, read the Bible through a few times, attended group studies, even took some college courses like History of Christianity, The Book of Mark, and The Book of Acts. I thought I was pretty well-educated for a layperson, and believed I understood God.
It wasn't until I needed a miracle, and came face to face with desperation, that I realized I actually did not know the true nature of God, or how to talk to Him at all.
I was driven to find out what the Bible actually said about prayer—conversation with God. Who prayed, what did they pray about, and most importantly, how did God answer? I began an in-depth study of the individual prayers in the Bible, starting in Genesis.
I was floored by what I found.
It was the first step to knowing who God truly is, how I can talk to Him, and how He talks back.
So, if you're in that same boat—needing a miracle, face-to-face with desperation, and frankly fed-up with "churchy" answers that leave you more frustrated than ever—then God has put this book into your hands for a reason.
