Desperate for inspiration, Hazel impulse-buys a historic home online and flees Manhattan to tiny Story Lake, PA. Upon her dramatic arrival—involving an incident with a bald eagle—she discovers the charm of her new home may have been slightly exaggerated.

The house is a wreck and the town is struggling after their biggest employer shut down. Also, since her raccoon-infested home came with a seat on the town council our introverted heroine is stuck with a front row seat to all the small-town shenanigans.

But Hazel isn’t worried. Not since all six-feet-three inches of grouchy contractor Campbell Bishop slapped a bandage on her forehead and unintentionally inspired the heck out of her. There’s only one thing to do: Hire Cam and his equally gorgeous brothers to renovate her new spider museum…er…house.

Okay two things. A fake date for “research purposes” will really put her work-in-progress on track. Before Hazel knows it, she’s writing a romance novel and living one. At least until the drywall dust settles, the town she’s falling in love with faces bankruptcy, and growly Cam remembers why he can’t live happily ever after.

At it again!

Lucy Score + Sebastian York + Lila Winters, of course it’s an instant 5 stars! This felt like a hug from an old friend. I have missed Lucy’s writing so much. The small town, the character relationships, the romance, the spice, the humor— chef’s kiss! The only downside is waiting a year for the second installment!

intense laughing and joy

thank you, I have not Gotten so lost in a book And laugh So hard In a very long time. I love romcoms and I started this off with a thank you because Lucy delivered a story like no other. this story just brought me so much joy and laughter and crazy scenes and sexy times it just was perfect for what I needed I would recommend this story and will recommend this story to anyone because this was just the best. if you need to laugh this is the story this heroine is just hilarious the things that happened to her are just too much and the one-liners she puts out there oh my gosh I laughed so hard I peed my pants. the narrators in this were perfect the female narrator did an excellent job at delivering those lines perfectly that just sent you over the top and the male narrator he is the perfect grumpy man in this story. he can definitely deliver a grumpy character and does so well and even his parts of the funny one liners were spot on. now I don't know what the blurb says but I can tell you a little bit that this is a writer who feels like she's washed up and just needs to start over with her life so she moves from New York City to a small town well can you imagine a New York City Girl moving to a small town that's an adjustment. all kinds of things happen that are just crazy and funny and I just love this story so much I can't say it anymore I don't I don't know how. it was definitely a good time to read this I really needed this thank you again Lucy.

Lucy Score does it again

The audiobook features the talented narration of Lila Winter and Sebastian York, the duo responsible for bringing the Knockemout series to life. (If you know, you know!) This is definitely a must-listen. They infuse the story with vibrant energy, capturing the wild antics of the town and the passionate moments behind closed doors.

This book was AMAZING!! I was obsessed with Knockemout, but this is my new obsession. Hazel and Cam are so stinkin cute together. I laughed and mourned then laughed again. The audio was on point also! Can’t wait for the next book ❤️

One of the best

This book had me from the beginning and that hasn’t happened in a long time. So glad I listened to it right when it came out!

Laugh out loud.

This was a great story. If you love to laugh out loud this is your book. I have always loved Sebastian York as a narrator he was great. Enjoy!!!

Omg I loved it

This book by far is my favorite Lucy Score novel. I laughed at the banter and how the narrators were so on point! I couldn't stop listening. Delightful,
