Exciting story, mediocre performance

The story was an exciting continuation of the previous book. However, the new narrator was very underwhelming. Too slow and ponderous. Sometimes he tools breaks in the middle of sentences where it made no sense. It was like this was the first time he had ever read the book.

annoying narrator

I like Margaret Weis. she is one of my favorite authors. The narrator is annoying. He pronounces some of the names differently than in the first book. He also tries to do a fake French accent that is annoying. It is a good story worth the read in spite of the annoying narrator.

WORST? narraTOR. eVER!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Storm Riders?

Listening to the narration. He pronounced everyone's name completely differently than the first narrator. His inflection was horrible. He put an accent/emphasis on the last syllable of too many words (as if that made it an actual accent) and made statements into questions. The dragons sounded drugged. In all, it sounded like he couldn't decide if the characters were drunken Scots, Jamaicans, Germans or Frenchmen.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He could have listened to the narrator of the first book. He very nearly ruined the book for me.

Any additional comments?

The story itself was interesting. I liked the political intrigue and multi-dimensional characters and alliances.

Dragons, spies and intrigue

Great characters. Good story. Lots of twists and turns. And great magic! Plus I enjoyed the narration. I listened and couldn’t stop. On to the Seventh Sigal.

good build up and nice cliffhanger

good pacing and the action is spread out some slow parts but rather enjoyable to me

father Jacob he is a very smart character and love his selfless motives

What didn’t you like about John Keating’s performance?

Loved the first book narrator and the pronunciation in the second book differed from the first book which sounded weird (did not like the french accent English)

Was Storm Riders worth the listening time?

Yes it was as long as you ignore the narration

Please bring back the first book narrator for the rest f the series.

alright the first book better

the first book was better and the reader was better as well. i got use his voice over time.

Poor narration

I dont know why they changed the narrator he not a impovement. The story is good so its the narration thats bad.

I love the story, but...

While John Keating has done excellent work elsewhere, this story is a bit jarring due to his pacing being so different from Kirby Heyborne(narrator for books 1 and 3). The story is excellent, but I struggled reconciliation between the readers.
