Twists and Turns
This one hit me in so many places it hurts. The theme of the story, if you aren't a super human, empathy is a burden. People hate you for it.

An Unusual Thriller
The beginning of the book is entirely different from the middle in tone. The main character changes dramatically. I enjoyed watching his growth. The ending leaves the reader wanting to know more.

Not bad
A little easy to predict but overall an interesting story with decent characters. It can probably stand as a stand alone. I can’t say I’m dying to see what happens next. But I would read it.

It was….something
I didn’t enjoy or not enjoy the book. I have mixed feelings, I like the premise but it gets a little too sci-fi for me. Narrated very well, but the story left much to be desired. I wouldn’t tell someone not to read it but I also won’t recommend it.

Where is the sequel?????
I enjoyed the book, but it just stops….even books with sequels usually wrap up better than this one did. It was a stretch of imagination to start and the sequel-less non-ending implies it was too much of a stretch for Birmingham. Hope he finishes his story one day.

the story line was great and unexpected
