3.5 Stars - worth a listen.

This starts out with a strong story. I was intrigued most of the way through. The story was very creative and the world of Changelings and Psys seemed promising. I got bored toward the end. The ending seemed rushed and left me ready for the book to end with about 30 mins left. The HEA was silly.
As for romance, it was promising. But somehow missed the mark.
I am not just a reader of romance novels, but I'm looking for the gems in the genre.

Some of my favorite Fantasy Books and Authors: Jeanine Frost's Night Huntress Series is my all time favorite, Karen Marie Moning's Fever Series and Highlander series, JD Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood. I also liked Outlander, although I'm not making much progress with Book 2.

WOW!! THIS IS ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PARANOMAL ROMANCE SERIES. IT IS A STUNNER. SINGH DOES SUCH A WONDERFUL JOB CREATING A WORLD AND THE CHARACTERS IN IT THAT YOU JUST DO NOT WANT TO END. I HAVE READ THEM ALL AND UNLIKE J.R.WARDS SERIES WHICH I LIKED TILL BOOK 6, THIS SERIES IS STILL GREAT ALL THE WAY TO 10 AND I HOPE IT CONTINUES. I HAVE 3 OF THE AUDIOS AND DAWE DOES A WICKEDLY , WICKEDLY GOOD JOB AND I HOPE THE DO THE REST IN AUDIO ALSO. THE NARRATOR IS EVERYTING IN AN AUDIOBOOK AND I HAVE BEEN DISAPPOINTED MANY A TIME WHEN I HAVE LOVED A BOOK I READ AND HAD IS DESTROYED WITH A BAD NARRATOR IN THE AUDIO VERSION. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IN THESE AUDIOS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I enjoyed the characters and the world Singh created. I can't wait to see how it all ends. I can't stop reading.

Sin-stational!!!!

This in one of the books that start you on a great new series. If you like loving a new set of friends and family this is one of those series. No secrets are held back; humans know about all of the different races. However all is not known about the Psy , Changeling and Humans. It is a different dimension from all we've known. Step into a new life in paranormal living.

Best moment is Sasha letting the bond form. Hello new "net".

The narrator is soft, male, female and all "sin-stational". All are strong and daring. You will learn to love all races. And with totally human hearts.

Great series!!!! This is my favorite series. Each book builds on the overall world while keeping you interested in the individual romances. A few of the book were about secondary characters that I didn’t care about at the beginning and absolutely loved by the end. This review applies to the first 9 books in the series.

I couldn’t stop listening! Great book. Narration was very good. Story was captivating to me.

Great series

This series is so much fun. It’s like an ongoing sci-fantasy series with hot sex. The narrator is incredible. Across nearly 20 books, the voices of all the main characters are consistent and recognizable!

Definitely worth listening to. Best kind of audible escape!

I Tried

I really tried to get into this book, but half way through I had to stop. I think maybe it was too sexual and needed more content. I just couldn't get into it.

Homerun with the first book in the series

In my experience, it's been rare to find the first book in the series an immediate hit out of the park. Usually the author of a series spends the first book getting her feet under her, explaining the world and consequently doesn't do as good a job with the storyline and the main characters.

Nalini Singh does an amazing job of everything in this book. She provides a good understanding of the world, enough background so you know what's going on, but don't know everything -- so you keep coming back and learning new things each time and the chemistry and story between the two characters is heartbreakingly amazing. I literally laughed and cried in several places throughout this book. In addition to the stunning emotional romance, she also managed very well written sex scenes that were explicit enough to be exciting but not so over the top that they seemed unreal or caused problems with suspension of reality.

I immediately purchased and have listened to the next 2 books. After getting through book 2, I purchased and downloaded books 4 and 5 as well. I'm looking forward to continuing to learn more about this amazing group of characters and Nalini's interesting and strange world.

An aside regarding narration... it's good. It's not a distraction for me. But it doesn't enhance and bring the story to life more like narration of other series I've listened to. It's enough to not be a distraction though given how well written this story is.

I can never get enough of Nalini Singh's books. The narrator did a beautiful job with the characters and listening to this story just made my day 😄
