Not Horrible, Not Worth Continuing

I tried hard to be fair with this book and give it a chance. For me, and I'm not anyone's authority on what makes a book good, it just didn't do it.

The story's description for the book says this: "If you crave heart-stopping action, unyielding heroes, and mind-bending surprises...". This book never got close to "heart-stopping action" or "mind-bending surprises." I found it tedious and uninteresting. The ending for me made the story worse, just too unrealistic for the setting and situation.

Was it completely terrible? No, but I wouldn't recommend it and won't be continuing to invest in the following books.

Love the fast pace action and vividly descriptions of the those actions.. truly a joy to listen to on audio book.

Fast paced action thriller

I really enjoyed this book. The narration was very fitting for the story. I’m a big fan of teotwawki books and this one was a great addition. As a father of two very string willed daughters I always like seeing a female main character who more than holds her own. I liked how nobody was flawless and good and bad traits were shown.

The story kept my interest the whole time. I found it a new world I hadn’t seen before.

A bit dull at first

The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook with no expectation of a review. This book was a bit dull IMO until about the last 5 chapters when the action really heated up. WARNING: It ends on a cliffhanger!

not quite the quality of writing I was hoping for. narrator was ok. story did not turn out like I thought it would.

Average story

The performance and plot kept me engaged but unfortunately the writing left me wanting more. The plot and setting were interesting and engaging, especially the opening scene, but eventually the story became predictable and dry. I would not recommend reading/listening to this book.
