I can't express how much I love this series.

I read a lot. Like A LOT. So much, that when I can't physically read a book, I'm listening to one. Finding this series was surprising, as it's rare to find a series that had such an enticing balance of action, intrigue, romance, levity, downright hilarity, yet still left me wanting to know what happens next. The narrator is exceptional, and her telling of the story adds so much to the experience. This is what an amazing narrator sounds like.
If you're looking for nothing but a cheap sex fest, this isn't for you. But if you want an engaging story that actually contains elements that you can relate to and that will keep you completely entranced, get this series.

I love the Warrior Chronicles. I finish one and eagerly wait to hear the next.

Good Story....hard to stay with the narrator

I have got this far due to a good story but my biggest issue is the narrator. She sounds like she is annoyed at most times and it comes out in short bursts. It makes the main character sounds like she is annoyed and really mundane.

Another Fantastic volume in this series!!!

Shanti, the Captain, Sanders, all of my favorite heroines & heroes and they are more lovable than before!

I kneed a Dr

I love this series but I really missed the doctor in this one... Although, Bloody Bastard did a good job taking his place for a while.

Still just as good as the first one!

I love every single one of these books. I like how Shante shows more affection for the people around her and values who they really are to her. I will be sad when this series is over.

Brilliant!

‌Definitely one of best series on my bookshelves! Great characters, main and sidekicks. They all feel authentic in their struggles and successes. Great humour and sass. Heaps of simmering passion blossoming to romance and then love. Moments of loss had me tearing up confirming this author made me care deeply for every character in this series, not only main ones. Great imagination and storytelling. Great plot twists and the world this author has built is complete and absolutely enrapturing. The story feels original even in terms of fantasy, which is quite rare and stories are in majority very typical if you read the genre as often as I do. Narrator is perfect in this series as well as in other books I've had the pleasure of hearing her in. At first it was somewhat distracting as she narrated some of my favourite series but this story and colourful characters sucked me in fast enough. What got me hooked up completely and made me inhale first 5 books in 3 days though, is that bloody horse and Sanders. The whole series is full packed with action and in certain moments, after good amount of tension build-up, when it started to border on too much or I was on the verge of getting confused who is doing what....that hilarious horse would show up! Or Sanders would have one of his moments. And voilà! I was startled into such historical laughter that had my whole family scrambling for cover. That move there!!! That is real talent. You see, it's not about sassy character or dumb/silly/cute/annoying pet or some such. That is well known and well used recipe in books. But, to recognise the perfect moment to unleash said character and/or pet. That is brilliant! And I'm now an official fun of this series. My recommendation for books 1-5 and of I go to the last one in series. Bittersweet that....

great story

I love the strong, female lead. I love the way she changes and becomes more open and vulnerable throughout the series. This series is also action packed and will have you on the edge of your seat during the fighting scenes.
The narration is a tad annoying. She has a very sing songy style with repetitive inflections. If her characters voices weren't great and the story wasn't so engaging, it would have been extremely irritating.

Enjoy all five so far looking forward to the rest. I give it two thumbs down

This is probably my favorite book of this series, so far. Very exciting and strategic, I enjoy the battle planning scenes as well as the towns-people coming together.
