Acerca de esta escucha

From New York Times bestselling author Bernard Cornwell, the twelth installment in the world-renowned Sharpe series, chronicling the rise of Richard Sharpe, a Private in His Majesty’s Army at the siege of Seringapatam.

Quartered in a crumbling Portuguese fort, Richard Sharpe and his men are attacked by an elite French unit, led by an old enemy of Sharpe’s, and suffer heavy losses.

The army’s high command blame Sharpe for the disaster and his military career seems to be ruined. His only hope is to redeem himself on the battlefield. So with his honour at stake, against an overwhelming number of French troops, Sharpe leads his men to battle in the narrow streets of Fuentes de Oñoro.

Love the character development and unique personas of everyone in the story. They make the book seem like your are living the narrative and empathize (or hate) individuals accordingly

This serious is entertaining no matter what book you read or listen to

Loved the battling but the story line was not as good as the other Sharpe novels. On to the next!

Though the battle ran a bit long at the end, another great book. read by the best actor on audible.

Good action and plot development. Amazing battle scenes, but that always has been Cornwell’s super power.

Good as always!

We’ve particularly enjoyed the episodes narrated by Rupert Farley. Hopefully we have a few more to go.

Another awesome Sharpe story!

Lots of action. Well written. The personal story of Sharp within the larger historical context of the wars between Britain and France fought all over Spain and Portugal just draws you in.

Would have been 5 stars if they had included the historical note. Great disservice to the listeners to leave that out.

Cornwell is not remotely at O'Brian's level, or even C.S. Forrester or George McDonald Frasier. The characters are all cardboard cutouts. Mind you, I have enjoyed these books, but as trash reading, not as anything resembling literature.

Comparison to Patrick O'Brian absurd
