The Enemy of My Enemy.

Political Intrigue, strong female characters, and clever survivors make an enjoyable tale of old Ireland.

Interesting Historical Fiction Epic

I enjoyed this epic series and could visualize the story as it played out. If you enjoy historical fiction, I think you'll enjoy the series too.

Great story

This was a super story- not quite Bernard Cornwell but still a great listen. The narrator is superb!

Treachery

This was a thoroughly enjoyable book to listen to. It highlighted the infighting of the Irish kings, a subject that I had not been very aware of. The story relied on a lot of skirmishes and battle scenes and could have used more plot. The performance was well done! This was a great find.

There was confusion over the many characters. It was hard to follow the various storylines.

Entertaining

Good story. It was worth my time. I will probably listen to the next one at some point. You're going to want to speed the narration up to about 1.2 or so.

A good listen!

There are few enough main characters that it is easy to follow while doing your work. It does not leave many loose ends/cliff hangers at the end of the book. The narrator also gave enough variation in voices that it also helped to distinguish between characters. I hope you enjoy as I did.

Narration

I’m sure that Shaun Grindell is respected in his field and own right. But this was not his best work. The characters had very subtle differences which didn’t allow my imagination to breathe. This gives me hope that one day my voice acting dream will be successful. I am engrained in the story and entrenched with the men in each scenario of the pouring rain. I’m in the military and there is a sense of heritage with each chapter. It’s what kept me coming back for more. Overall I enjoyed this adaptation.

A captivating story!

James Nelson (Lord Nelson to his Sea Scouting friends) has written a fantastic and accurate story about a Norse crew gone a Viking in Ireland.
Though the English accent of the narrator Texas getting used to, and there aren't any actual Scandinavian accents to speak of, it was a great listen. I'm looking forward to starting the next book (In about 5 min).
