Extremely disappointing narration.

Although I saw quite a few negative reviews I took a chance because I love this author.. Needless to say I was very disappointed in the male narrator. He is supposed to be the leader of an outlaw MC. I expected bad a** but he sounded like he was 15 and is still In high school. It was very disappointing. The female narrator did a very good job. I actually preferred listening to her when she spoke on his behalf. Of course I will still be getting the next book in the series because the story line was great and it ended on a cliff hanger. I have over a 100 audiobooks in my in my library and this is the 1st time I have ever given a negative review.

Narration Ruined This Story

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not the Audible edition. Male narrator talks too fast, and in no way comes across as a hot, sexy biker. Download the sample and see for yourself. Kelly did a great job with the female voice. This rating shouldn't reflect poorly upon her efforts.

Would you be willing to try another one of Walles Hamonde and Kelly Burke ’s performances?

No for Walles but yes for Kelly.

Excellent start to an amazing series!

All three of these Audible's are
suppurb in every way! If you like a sex filled action packed MC drama than you owe it to yourself to listen to this series!

I really hate when we are not informed that a book is a cliffhanger, Especially when they do not let you know the title and when to expect the next book. I would have rated it a 5 if it wasn't for that

Not enough

only one juicy scene. the voice of rebel was lacking in male grit and made it difficult to visualize him as the author intended.
story line was good and kept my interest.

Ok but not great

Not a real ending and male voice did not match the character. I bought the series so I will continue but warning it is not a true stand alone novel.

cliffhanger? really?

disappointed that you HAVE to purchase another book to see what happens with Sophia and Rebel.

This fits in nicely with her other book series

So this is beginning to fit in nicely with her other book series, but the mail voice actor's voice is not at all convincing. The female voice actor's voice is deeper and more gutteral and sexy when she does the male voice parts than the actual male voice actor's voice is. It's kind of disappointing. I'll finish the book series because I'm dedicated to it, but I truly am not looking forward to listening to his voice for the next two books.

Audiobook Review of Rebel by Callie Hart:

While Rebel by Callie Hart has the potential to captivate listeners with its intense romance and gripping plot, the audiobook experience falls short in a major way due to a miscast narrator. It’s critical for authors, especially in the romance genre, to choose audiobook readers who can embody the characters and tone of the story accurately. Unfortunately, in this case, the narrator’s portrayal of the male lead is jarring and undermines the character’s appeal.

The male protagonist is supposed to come across as a strong, complex “bad boy,” yet the narrator’s voice for him sounds more like a teenager just out of high school, with a voice that hasn’t quite matured. This choice completely detracts from the tension and intensity of the story. Instead of exuding the depth and allure of a seasoned, dangerous man, he sounds more like someone who’s still getting used to the mechanics of adult conversation. For listeners, this creates an offputting disconnect, making it difficult to invest in the romance and the emotional stakes of the book.

Audiobook listeners expect a certain level of immersion when they dive into a story, and voice acting is a huge part of that. Unfortunately, when the narrator’s voice doesn’t match the character’s persona, it pulls you out of the experience. I found myself unable to finish the audiobook due to this issue, as the narrator’s portrayal of the characters was simply too distracting.

Authors should be more discerning in selecting narrators for their audiobooks. It’s not just about reading the lines—it’s about creating the right atmosphere and capturing the essence of the characters. In romance, where chemistry and character connection are everything, the wrong voice can truly sabotage the entire experience. In the case of Rebel, the poor choice of narrator ultimately ruined what could have been an engaging listen.

Loved it

I really enjoyed the storyline and loved the characters. Narrators did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. And yes there is a Cliffhanger. I can’t wait to get the next audiobook ASAP.
