Solid basics for travelers!
While most of the locals we met in Portugal spoke English (and/or Spanish), this book had most all of the necessary vocabulary to figure out the context of conversations and ask/answer basic questions. It was also fun, and very helpful with pronunciation. Would love to do another of these books, and even a second level.

Great way to start!
I bought this book a while back before going to Portugal. The lessons a very appropriate for a person visiting Portugal as the lessons are very similar to what you are likely to encounter. I liked the pace of each lesson and will certainly recommenced this book for beginners. I found watching TV with subtitles while I was in Portugal greatly enhanced my vocabulary and provided me with a list of daily used words within a short space of time. I felt confident going out and trying to speak with the locals. Is there part two of the book?
