This book was pure enjoyment! There were so many twists and turns. It kept me mesmerized. I don't have a bad thing to say about it. Pure enjoyment!

ONE MORE ROMANTIC & ENJOYABLE LISTEN FROM J.L.

I'm enjoying Julia London's venture into the Contemporary Romance scene and this series is a nice change.

Michael (much more than just a handsome playboy) gets cold feet after his long. happy and loving relationship with Leah when it gets too serious so he unceremoniously dumps her but there's secrets in his life that she doesn't know about. Leah is quite devastated and it ruins her life for quite a while. Zoom ahead 5 years, he's now part of the Thrill Seekers Anonymous Group and they meet again, have to work together and he tells her everything including the fact that he's never gotten over her. But she's in a different place in her life now so can she emotionally afford to let him in or let him go.

A nice up and down love story with a few twists, a kidnapping, romantic, sad, funny, sexy, great characters but, above all, it was an entertaining and very enjoyable story.

Worth a credit? Definitely..... and I'm happily about to download Book 3 now.

My intro to this author...good story

I enjoyed this story, it had twist and turns. It wasn't a straightline to anywhere. It seemed long but I found it more believable than most stories that move fast but we like them.
It had good characters, it had drama...I much preferred this writing. I'm not explaining it well. It's good, it's different than many of the books out there right now. She is definitely an author you can appreciate. Great narrator.

Very Likeable Couple

What did you love best about One More Night?

I really liked this pair and was rooting for them all they way. Despite them both being beautiful their fears were understandable and their missed cues made sense. It was fun, light reading with some touching parts. The subplot from Michael's past gave the book more interest and kept the momentum going.

What did you like best about this story?

I really "got" each of the two main characters -- like them very much.

What about Renee Raudman’s performance did you like?

Renee Raudman's style has grown on me with this book. Her male Texas drawl was irritating in the first book due to making the handsome studly lead character sound like an old man. This main male character doesn't have an accent which she did better. I liked how she voiced Leah, the heroine.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The main final scene at the producer's house between Michael and Leah. Wow. The scene between the two of them in Michael's loft apartment was pretty darn hot, but I wondered how realistic it could be when they haven't been together in over five years.

Final Notes... Where do I start....?
1. The H dumps his GF out of the blue and then disappears
2. The H's friend sees the h at a casting call and hires her to be in the movie they are shooting, along with a couple of other girls he dated... just for giggles. Not a good friend!
3. Once they meet, the h goes Mega-B on him and uses antics that are meant to be funny but come across as cruel.
4. The h is a complete moron and dangerously naive. She goes into a tailspin for 6 months when the H dumps her and blows a major Hollywood role.

4a. She then accepts a guy hitting on her like Pepe LePew, and then drinks to excess with him the first time she goes out with him. She feels really wasted, beyond normal but thinks nothing of it. Her friends see her, know that she is not acting normal, yet leave her with a guy no one knows!!!
5. He is a CIA trained spy but gets emotional and acts like a junior high school boy when he sees the h in a dangerous situation but thinks that she is happy to be with said bad guy... So much so that he gets caught by said bad guy.

JL, I know that you like drama for the sake of drama, but this was way too much!

Not my type of book

The main character had too many annoying characteristics. She’s almost like what someone may describe in a movie as the dumb blonde side character, but here she’s the main character. You would think though that as the main character she one have a redeeming quality but no… nothing. Please give me something to like about her. I can’t tell if it was the performance or the story but the main character gave off: annoying and super whiney. Another note, the author over used the descriptions of people -flicking their wrist-
She’s always describing someone talking with flicking their wrist around or waving their hands around. What’s up with this focus on wrists/hands?

The narrator/performance: Not what I like in my voices. I just couldn’t stop picturing Reba from that old Reba show. Also, like I said earlier, I can’t tell if it’s because of what she is reading, but her voice was great at the whole giving off a “I’m an annoying person” vibe.

What would have made One More Night better?

Better story, better writing, better narration. This was trash.

What was most disappointing about Julia London’s story?

Couldn't even listen to more than a few minutes of this book. It was that bad - I don't mind a fun light read, but this was just garbage.
