Wholesome Small Town Romantic Comedy

Well this was not what I was expecting from Meghan Quinn. It's nothing like the previous books I've read from her but damn if it's not the sweetest goddamn small town romance. If you want a true slow burn romance this is the one for you. Not only do our characters have a second chance romance but we get such an adorable friends to lovers plotline too. It was a bit too much of a slow burn for me but if you want a true swoonworthy, romantic gesture, cinnamon roll love interest you gotta check this one out.

If you're looking for a hotter read like some of her other books, this isn't it! This is much more wholesome and romantic than smutty. The story is much more about these two souls finding each other through their own trials and tribulations and the sexy time is only one scene and very minor. But I will say it was such a cute read. Definitely, romcom gold with so much heart.

Language is foul

the cussing is throughout the whole book, not for sensitive ears. If you could remove all cuss words it would be a 5 star story.

Swoony, slow-burn romcom perfection!!

Ready to run, Julia! Runaway Groomsmen by Meghan Quinn was swoony. slow-burn romcom perfection that did crazy good things to my heart. This book gave me all the “Runaway Bride” vibes mixed with small-town and cozy cabin fixer-upper lake feels. Sawyer and Fallon’s first encounter was less than memorable. However, fate deals them a second chance and their journey to HEA is one hilarious, heartfelt ride.

Samantha Brentmoor and Alastair Haynesbridge narrate this audiobook, and this is the first time I’ve heard these two paired together. In Samantha’s performance of Fallon, you could feel her vulnerabilities, passions, desires, and determination as she strove to fulfill promises made to her Alzheimer-stricken grandpa. Samantha’s rasp in her tone highlighted and conveyed several raw and emotional moments for Fallon that flat-out gave me chills. (Yes, lady!) Alastair expressed Sawyer’s past pain, emotional growth, and devotion to Fallon perfectly, and made my heart flutter! Both narrators were amazing showcasing Fallon and Sawyer’s slow-burn magnetic chemistry.


Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a second-chance romance with a hot redeeming screenwriter, a loyal heroine dedicated to saving her family business, powder blue suits, a drunken first night in a new town, Canoodle, CA, love triangles, snarky best friend, a nostalgic grumpy grandfather, feline mayors, renovating cozy cabins, supportive dads, first dates under the stars, slow-burn spice, a little bit of angst, and a HEA that will completely run away with your heart, then you will love Fallon and Sawyer’s romance. I always look forward to more from Meghan Quinn.

Love this book!!

The story line is so good and Meghan always has some hilarious moments in her books. There was even some references to other characters some of her other books!

worth more than five stars!

This is probably the most enjoyable book by this author i have read. It's believable, heart warming, and funny. The writing was very well done, and the narrators did an awesome job!

A very sweet story

I like Meghan Quinn and thought this was a particularly nice story. Her writing can be truly laugh out loud funny. I loved the mention of the Knightly brothers and Port Snow. That was a GREAT series and my introduction to Meghan Quinn. I thought Jaz's character was quirky and funny until her actions at the end (not giving any spoilers). Very glad MQ didn't plan on a full story about her. Narration was good as well.

Meghan Quinn Did It Again

This is the 5th book I’ve read/listened to by Meghan Quinn and I just keep wanting more! I loved this and I can’t wait to start another one!

The feels

I loved this whole book. I loved that the author took their time to really get each character right! I could visually see this book play out movie style while listening and I loved it.
