Acerca de esta escucha

New to the Pittsburgh Titans but no stranger to relentless ambition, North Paquette knows exactly how to put in the work to ensure the win. But this time, the stakes are personal, because the game isn’t just on the ice.

Life as a member of the Pittsburgh Titans is pretty freaking fantastic. I live in one of the best cities around, get paid to play the game I love and enjoy all the perks of being a professional hockey player. While many of those perks are because of who I am, one in particular is because of who I know.

Farren Abrams wasn’t on my radar until she came to town to visit her brother Rafferty. She’s smart, sarcastic, sexy as hell and can talk hockey like a pro. So when a night out with the team became a drunken hookup with Farren, there were zero complaints from yours truly. We had our fun and then she went back home—no harm, no foul. Now she’s moved to Pittsburgh permanently and while she’s still looking for some fun, I’m starting to look for more.

The more time I spend with Farren the more I like her, but to say she’s relationship averse is an understatement. Something in her past has caused her to head for the hills whenever someone gets too close, but she shuts down whenever I push for details. When she rejects my attempts to take this thing to the next level, I’m forced to seek help from none other than Rafferty, who has no idea I’m banging his little sister. With his assistance, I set out to do the one thing none of those chumps in Farren’s past have taken the time to do—help her face her demons and give her something worth staying for.

Farron's the sister of Rafferty, one of the Titans. North and Farron hooked up when she visited but didn't want anything serious. Now she's back and seems like she's running again. Can North help her love again when she won't say what happened to her? Will she end up trusting him? I like this book and the narration. I'm looking forward to Penn's book.

A witty, charming, emotional and heartwarming romance. North and Ferran are adorable together, their chemistry is off the charts but the deep connection they developed was beautiful. I loved how understanding, patient and loving North was with her. Ferran is a free spirit but deep down is hurting from her past. Their journey was not easy at times but their destination was perfect for them. I enjoyed this story.

I have been waiting for North to come out for a while. I listened to the series twice now and have been looking forward to these last 3 books. North is adorable. He seems like a walking green flag, however, as a girl’s girl, I’m disappointed to say I loathe her character. I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a character as much as I disliked Ferren. I totally understand PTSD and past relationship trauma but seriously, did she not want to move on? Why did no one in her family speak up about this before? Maybe we our families are just different but my family would have never enabled me to behave the way she did for so long. It was frustrating. Almost so frustrating that I was ready to stop listening early on in the book. I’m hoping the next 2 books have a female character that is not so whiny and is more mature with some strength and backbone. You can totally have a romance book with a male lead that is the total male package while also having a strong female lead character.

I love Sawyer Bennett books but…
