best friends to lovers

I'm a sucker for a good best friends to lovers book. I enjoy most tropes, but lately the "I've loved you for so long" thing really gets to me. Kade and Iris are everything. This book was so sweet. And I loved that he was waiting for her because he knew she was it for him, even if she hadn'tbeen waiting around for him. The whole hockey thing definitely helped. And it was narrated perfectly

A Good Hockey Romance

I was entertained by this audiobook; however, I thought the characters were too one-sided and lacked depth. Although I liked Cade, I couldn't reconcile the idea that he didn't think he was good enough for his best friend, even though he was a starting forward for a team of the NHL. I admired Iris who struggled so fiercely to attain her career, but what I found unbelievable was that she walked away from it. There were some steamy scenes in this story. I enjoyed Savannah Thomas' and Christian Leatherman's dual narrations as their performances enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

Such a great start to a series

This was a joy to listen to from the storyline to the narrators.
The main characters Cade and Iris had history and were gorgeous together, the story was steamy at times and really emotional at one point.
The relationship that they both had with Beckett (being - best friend and brother) added a fun element to this story.
Getting to know and really liking the side characters in the hockey team also added to the storyline.
This is a second chance love story with both characters having to work through what happened in their past for them to have their happy ending.
The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing Ellie’s story together and making it sound so real.
I’m definitely excited to carry on with this series.

Between bed-sharing (yes, THAT happens), tropical shenanigans, and years of bottled-up feelings, Cade and Iris fumble their way to a love that’s been brewing since forever. No third-act breakup, just two lovable idiots finally figuring out how to communicate. Bonus points for Beckett, the brother/bestie who charms his way into setting up the next book.

If you’re craving something sweet, light, and full of feel-good vibes, this one’s a top pick. With second-chance romance, hockey heat, and all the feels, it’s perfect for puck lovers and romance junkies alike. 🏒❤️

Ice and Spice!

This is my first Ellie Wade book. It's also my first hockey romance. And I am not disappointed in either!

I will definitely be reading as many of this author's books as I can get my hands on!

I read immersively - with both physical the book and the audiobook at the same time.

With several tropes represented, the characters were well developed! Best friend's sibling, second chance romance, childhood sweethearts, and first physical love are the ones on the tip of my tongue.

Cade, a professional hockey player, and Iris, the little sister to Beckett, also an NHL player and Cade's best friend are the main characters.

While hockey might be played on ice, there's nothing cold about Cade and Iris' attraction: spicy-spicy! I'd say 3-4 🌶️🌶️🌶️-🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, but very well written.

Like I said, I will definitely read more! I highly recommend this if you're in the mood for some well written plot, fun, and spice!
