Good introduction to the series

This first story in this series introduces the listener to the owner and members of Harper Security Ops.
Harper Security is not only a security firm, but also a tactical and self defense training center.
When Tarryn Hendrix’s sister is violently assaulted, Tarryn is determined to take matters into her own hands . For the past two years she’s been training at Haper Security with the goal of taking down those who destroyed her beloved sister.
What happens when Royce Harper, owner of Harper Security, realizes what Tarryn is up to? Will he help her understand the danger she’s putting herself in? Will he help Tarryn in her determination to find justice?
On a personal basis, will these two act on the attraction?
The plot was engaging and the characters likable.
Mega Sylvan and James Cavenaugh did a very good job with the narrations.

This was a great listen! I love the narrators. They did a fantastic job. Plus the story is Really good!

Wonderful audio to my favorite series!!

Tarryn is heartbroken after her sister is assaulted and moves away in order to heal. She misses her sister and is willing to do anything to have her back, even if that means putting herself at risk. After training with Harper Security for over two years, she sets her plans into motion to take down everyone responsible for hurting her sister.

Royce, owner of Harper Security, discovers what Tarryn is doing and refuses to allow her to put herself in harms way. He’s determined to get justice for Tarryns sister.

This book was a great start to my favorite Evans series! After reading the book, I didn’t think I could love it anymore. Listening to the audio proved that wrong. There’s just something about the emotion in the voices that really amplify the story. I can’t wait to listen to the next book. Royce & Tarryn are the perfect example of the depths you’ll go to for the ones you love. They are the perfect team & couple.

Royce and Taryn Start Off A Fabulous New Series

Every time I read an A.K. Evans' book, I am always amazed at the quality story she delivers every time. From small details like powdered donuts to paint color on walls, that build up the realistic lives of all the characters in each book. Taryn takes self-defense and shooting lessons from Harper Security, which is owned by Royce. He follows the rules and avoids his attraction for her for two years until he saves her from a bad situation. After she agrees to not go after the men that hurt her sister, he breaks his cardinal rule of no fraternizing with the clients and an amazing relationship is born.

The audio was excellent with both narrators doing a great job portraying Taryn and Royce.

HEA!

Oh how I wanted to throttled Tarryn when she thought self-defense classes would do it for her to take down the guy who assaulted her sister. But if it wasn't for her darkening the Harper Security doorway, she and Royce may not have crossed paths. Good thing he had some sense in his head to convince Tarryn to stand down. There was so much attraction between the two that it was hard for them to resist being together.

Meg Sylvan is fast becoming a new favorite female narrator. She voiced Tarryn so well, bringing out the character's personality. Teddy Hamilton has been a favorite male narrator of mine. Both narrators had soothing voices that brought this story to life.

Cavenaugh and Sylvan are Great as Royce & Tarryn

A.K. Evans is one of my favorite writers, and I thoroughly enjoy her stories. Even better, I get to experience them in a new way through audiobooks! “Broken,” Book 1 of the Harper Security Ops series of romantic suspense, is so stinkin’ good! James Cavenaugh is a little stiff as Royce, but it suits the character of a protective former military member, and Meg Sylvan does a great job as Tarryn! Meg brings the emotion and vulnerability that Tarryn needs, and I was swept away by the performance. Looking forward to more as soon as possible!

Great start to a new series

I love AK Evans books so when book 1 of her new Harper Security Ops book came out on audio I couldn’t wait to dive in during my daily commute.

The story pulls you in from the very beginning and you need to know what happens! The story is mostly told from Tarryn’s point of view, but we do get quite a bit of Royce’s mixed in every few chapters. It’s a nice balance and both narrators do a wonderful job bringing emotion into their reading.

Meg Sylvan ensures every character has their own voice and is able to deliver the whole range of emotions. James Cavenaugh narration is perfect for how I imagine Royce to sound. Honestly narrators can make or break an audiobook experience for me. These two do a wonderful job bringing AK Evans story to life.

Although this is a part of an upcoming series, it does not end on a cliffhanger and has great closure for Royce and Tarryn’s story. Looking forward to the next book!

Perfect start to a new series!

I loved Tieran and Royce from the very beginning. Her mission for vengeance brought her happiness in many forms, and Royce into her life. Their heartache and triumph was felt at every turn. I also loved how the background characters were able to come out a little too. I look forward to hearing more about this group in books to come.

Great Start to this Series!

Broken, was a great start to the Harper Security Ops! Royce is the sexy owner of Harper Security and met Tarryn a couple of years ago when she came in for defense training. They were both intrigued by the other but had limited contact until now, plus Royce had put her in the "Off Limits" section for being a client. Tarryn was such a strong and fierce heroine! I loved how she could stand on her own and was fearless and willing to do what she thought would help her sister feel safe and bring justice. Once Royce and Tarryn get on the same page they are simply amazing together! Overall, a very enjoyable book that was well-written and brought a great cast of characters that I am anticipating reading more of. The narrators did a great job bringing out the emotion of the situations with both Royce and Tarryn.

what a wonderful start to the Harper Security seri

What a wonderful start to the Harper Security series. I'm so invested in everyone I met in book 1 already. Royce and Tarryn spark fireworks. First the anger filled kind but the passion filled ones soon follow. Tarryn is crazily fierce and determined to find justice, and fate seems to have more in store as this mission causes her to cross paths with Royce. Tender moments ensue amongst the danger, action, and suspense as these two find love and forever. The narration is great at bringing the story that extra life from the pages.
