I am REAL tired of Flora Dane!

Lisa Gardener is one of my favorite authors but I feel like she's ruining the DD Warren series. Too much about her and her past and not enough about the continuing development of the series characters we know and love. I'm done with hearing Flora relive her past and not moving the story along. I wouldn't mind her as a reoccurring character but we dont have to hear all the past woes from the other characters not even DD anymore so why this one? NO MORE FLORA PLEASE!!!

Brilliant Lisa Gardner!

As usual Lisa Gardner delivers a fabulous story line that keeps you engrossed from page one. The only negative is it had to end!

l really enjoyed this book. It might have been a bit predictable, but still a fun read.

That this book is a winner! Read a few cranky reviews before I got the book but they were overridden by all the great reviews. Lisa Gardner hasn’t let me down yet, this one is more of the same solid writing I’ve come to expect from her. I expect we’ll see a few new characters make it over to her next book. The narrator was excellent, love her! Hope to hear from her in the next book as well! Spend the credit!

Magnificent storytelling!

Evie Carter returns home to find her husband dead in his office chair, obviously shot and holding the weapon. When she sees what’s on his computer screen, Evie grabs the gun and shoots the computer...twelve times. And that’s what the police see moments later when they arrive and assume the obvious. Detective D. D. Warren joins the scene and recognizes Evie from a case many years ago when she was a teen. Meanwhile, Flora Dane sees the news report on television and recognizes Evie’s husband, Conrad Carter, from a time during her captivity with abductor Jacob Ness.

This all happens within the first chapter so my imagination immediately launched into several theories. It was all perplexing, trying to figure out what Evie saw on that computer, who really killed Conrad and what was he doing with Jacob Ness. The case went in a lot of directions, especially when Flora finally agrees to cooperate with law enforcement and explore her memories of her 472 days in captivity. Even the federal agent who rescued her, Kimberly Quincy, joins the investigative team.

As much as I’ve enjoyed the books in the series, this one is my favorite as it managed to so seamlessly bridge at least five separate cases and situations, have them make sense and have each be a compelling story on its own. The narrator was equally outstanding in skillfully telling all these stories in D. D.’s, Evie’s and Flora’s voices so distinctly and wonderfully. I loved everything about this and if all I’ve described wasn’t enough, the ending is just magnificent!

This Golden Trifecta Will Take You On A Ride!

I don't often write book reviews, but I had to for "Never Tell". In my opinion, it's rare that a book has 1) A compelling storyline. 2) An ensemble of characters who fully get you invested & rooting for them. And in the end, leave you wanting more. AND 3) The perfect narrator (kudos to Kirsten Potter). I really hope that Lisa Gardner either continues to throw Flora Dane & her gaggle of struggling survivors, into the DD Warren series. Or better yet, gives Flora her due in a spin off series of her own.

Great story great narration and story line moves along

The story line moved along no dull moments describing spent describing non essential information. It also did not go from 1 unbelievable event to the next.
Story line has a lot of characters. I required a book tree to keep track of everyone in the beginning, but that could be related to my own age and memory.
The narrated did an awesome job. How does one do so many voices.
