Addiction - Spoiler Alert

best book of the year

Slaughter's best stand alone and the best audiobook I've listened to all year. If you're a thriller fan, this is a must listen.

WAAAAY too much Covid talk ☹️

I download books to escape all the talk about Covid and masks. That’s the LAST thing I want to read about and there is mention of Covid or masks every five minutes in this story. If it wasn’t for that I would have really enjoyed this book.

Really liked the book but..

Could have done without the political stuff at the end. It just really left a bad taste in my mouth. Anyways, story is intense and I like that the author will write about taboo topics.

Every word is golden

As a former prosecutor and former child sexual assault survivor, this Slaughter book resonated more with me than her others always do. There is not a single false note in False Witness. As always, I respect the thorough research that goes into her writing, the depth of her understanding about the social situation she addresses, and the thrilling pace of her stories. In addition, the narration really added exponentially to my enjoyment of the book. Highest recommendation.

Compelled to Finish

This book wrapped me in quickly and effectively. I enjoy the work of Karin Slaughter, but this one took the cake for me. The tension, emotion, and slow reveals kept me reeling and needing more. Before the story was over I felt like Cali needing more just to keep going. This is hands down one of my favorites in a long long time.

Another Favorite of Slaughter's!!

couldn't stop listening to this story, much like all of her novels! I loved the correlation to our current real-world struggles. it made it feel even more real. I love the emotions shown from all spectrums of personalities and the mostly, the ending, which was like a delicious warm peanut butter cookie and a glass of milk as a cherry on top of an already amazing day!

Another great story!

I loved it. Another great tag team with the narrator. I had to keep listening for what comes next. I listened in my car, in the market, and while at home. loved it.

Freaking awesome!

It’s a book by Karin Slaughter, does it even need a review? It was awesome…as always. Definitely not for anyone who is triggered by child abuse, rape, drug abuse, or anything else horrible. It’s graphic and gruesome, but totally thrilling and engrossing.

Intense and touching novel

Karin Slaughter has been one of my favorite authors for several years. My daughter and I enjoy her twisted villains and the characters she writes about. This may be my favorite book she has written. It is so clever and touches on family and social issues in a raw and honest way. This novel entertained me, but also touched my heart deeply.
