When I envisioned the life that I wanted for myself, I pictured myself sitting in a rocking chair in the nursery me
and my husband had spent months designing. I pictured looking down at a baby that resembled the both of us,
and thanking God that he chose me to be their mother.
My reality was that I was staring down at another negative pregnancy test and realizing the possibility that I
had failed another cycle of IVF, alone.
There was no husband here to comfort me, or a nursery that I could sit and sob in. Each time that one line
appeared, a small piece of me always died inside. It was like the plastic test was determining my future. My
fate. Letting me know I wasn’t worthy of giving life. Becoming the one thing I had always wanted to become: a
mother.
After taking this failed pregnancy test, I had to tie my scrubs, plaster a smile on my face and go out there and
care for my patients. So, when someone smiled and asked me the dreaded question… How are you? I always
smiled, though dying on the inside, and responded with, Never better… thanks.

LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ .....but

I listened to this along with the kindle book and im not sure what copy the narrators had but seriously think it needs to be recorded over, even with not reading along there were so many errors missing sentences and mispronounced names like Eddie being called Edie. Don't get me wrong I absolutely loved this story and i hope we find out what happened with June and Quan that's the next one I'm waiting on. I love Ace as a narrator but this wasn't a good one for him he even changed the tone of the male character at the end.... please look into recording this over please!! .

I love the story

Everything about this book was wonderful EXCEPT THE male narrator!!!! He was HORRIBLE. Listening was excruciating because of him. I legit skipped all of the chapters he read. I will add him to the rejection list. If I see his name on any books I may potentially buy, I will not buy them if he is a narrator!

This book was so good!!! Even through all of their loss, God still came back and blessed them with more than they could ever ask or thinking.

As someone who went through fertility issues and got their miracle baby this book was absolutely amazing. I laughed , cried and was pissed off. Ember went through so much . Whew !! So good

I listened to all 3 books in the series in a week! Each story had me thinking I was apart of the friend group lol someone needs to turn this into a movie asap!

This book series especially the 3rd book was so thoughtfully designed. Jah, you are a fantastic writer. Your style is distinctly you. BUT THIS 3rd BOOK, baaaaaaaaabaaaaaay... WTH, you outdid yourself. This is, as far as I am concerned, your best work which is saying a lot because your writing is really good
reader alert there are many trigger possibilities but this book is a wonderful beautiful messy peek at real life

It was interesting to follow the account of the Welshire men. Laurent’s story was interesting, as he was a half brother - and how he came to be was like wow! This was not one of my favorites of the three books. I say that because, I wished that Laurent would have handled his situation with Alice (his wife) before he got involved with Ember. I mean I know it happens. Although Ember didn’t seem to mind, she was fine with going along since they had feeling from their first encounter. Even then, Laurent was still married. Alice was unfaithful, too, but it doesn’t make it right. They were bold and right up under their noses!!! Just end the relationships and move on with a clean slate, so to speak. I do understand, when children are involved or you might have a reputation to protect. I think others would respect you more, if handled the right way. I can appreciate the touch on the topic of infertility, because many women experience it. I felt for Ember, when she didn’t feel worthy because of not being able to be a mother. She had a strong support system that would help her get through it. All she needed was faith. That was so beautiful how she was bless three fold. Laurent said she would be a mother; he just knew it. In the end, and how they got together, they were good for each other. Those Welshire men loved their women with their whole beings; they were some fortunate women to marry into richness. I wonder if there will be something written about Harlem’s best friend, June and maybe Quan and Romeo? It would be interesting to hear more about them.
