Twists and turns ..

This is by far the best yet in this series. These should be read/listened to in the series order. The surprises were great plot twists for the reader. And as always there are some great literary references that make you want to revisit classics.

Loved it!

Janes is a great character, along with the others. The mysteries, for me, aren't easily solvable as with other writers. There's always a hidden reason why something happens. As it should be!! Can't wait to listen to the next one!

OMG!!! This series gets better and more suspenseful with each book. Cannot wait to see want next

Hard to continue

I just started this series of books, and I really enjoyed them. However, the narrator of this particular story made it extremely difficult for me to finish. The voice was so syrupy and whiny and I just couldn’t get into the book like I wanted to. I would prefer a stronger voice for this particular series of books specifically since you have a female lead. The voice made it sound like she was always begging.

I have heard other books by this narrator and she typically doesn’t sound like that, so I am assuming it was a request

Terrific. I really enjoyed it!! It kept me interested and enthralled. Well written and researched!!

Not fond of the direction.

I love the story but I didn’t like the direction the story went at the end. I won’t say more because I don’t want to give anything away. Still very good.

My Favorite in the Series!

Jane has been through some harrowing experiences as a Steward. Writing retreats turned into crime scenes, her sons kidnapped, her lover MIA. In this 5th book in the Book Retreat Mysteries, she takes matters into her own hands to find him. Along the way, we learn more about her past and the secret book room and treasures. I loved what Ellery Adams does with this story. I could not stop listening! Exciting, captivating, heart-wrenching, and full of twists and big reveals. Johanna Parker is an excellent narrator for this series.

I am loving this series! Must listen!

This series has been a joy to listen to. The characters are animated and easy to identify with. I am very fussy about narrators and Johanna has done a wonderful job give the characters distinct voices and personalities.

Not my favorite

I have mixed feelings about this installment. I really love this series, but some of the twists and turns felt unnecessary. This review doesn’t have any spoilers, but I things some things are best left dead.
