Another great episode in the game and the chords series. John Conroe continues and refresh his stories with almost 20 books into the series. Each one continues to surprise and delight.

Jonny’s Back!!!

He’s back with a very good story and excellent sarcasm “…. If we could stop measuring our witchy wands…” great line!!!! His last book regarding Katrina was so horrible - I was both pi$$ed and insulted - I’d love to know how that ever was released - but Jonny is back and I’ll wait with baited breath for his next - don’t want to rush genius unless we’re talking Patrick Rothfuss!

The story is okay. It keeps with the whole world crated to cover the universe of the Demon Accords. I feel that we are drifting away from the original subject matter and people. But that happens. I guess this is a way to keep the subject matter relevant. Still Declan and Chris seems to have slid up the scale and now are more god like

Another enjoyable read

So many books later and still Conroe can write a very entertain book. Always great to reconnect with these characters.

I can’t get enough of this author or this series. It’s always a disappointment when I finish a book and have to wait for another…

This might be my favorite out of the series. Great job can’t wait for the next book.

Already read it twice!

As usual, everything! The characters are so well developed, you think they're your friends. The twists and turns are great. Story line is fantastic. I love the humor. I just had to re-read it. I wasn't ready for it to end.

I love the fact that I'm still enjoying the books in this series even after this long. Book 19 and still going strong! I enjoyed hearing everything from Mack's point of view this time around.

Mack’s story

This is the 19th book in the urban fantasy/sci-fi Demon Accord series. It is always fun and exciting to visit the world where Mack Sutton, Chris Gordon, Tanya Demidova, Declan O’Carroll and Stacia Reynolds live. Each book in the series continues to be engaging and the storylines continue to be fresh. This book is from Mack’s point of view. Mack and his sister Jetta are the only non-supernatural students at College Arcane. Despite being simply “human”, Mack has a lot of skills, incredible survivability “luck”, and also happens to be the best friend and former roommate of Declan. This book pick up after the last book where the Earth elemental got angry and Declan became Earth’s steward. The world and its people are still trying to adjust to the new normal. This book is not quite as heavy on the chastisement of human behavior as the last book was so the tone of this one feels more like the previous books in the series. The overarching storyline continues about the pending attacks/invasion from Vorsook against earth, the death of millions of earth’s inhabitants, the deal with hell, and the arc about public opinion of our heroes and the various supernatural powers. I love that Mack, smack in the inner circle of multiple super powerful beings, still struggles with life and emotions like a normal human which makes him a more relatable and likeable hero. Almost all of the characters from the other books are present in this book as well which gives the story more depth. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, end of the world scenarios, paranormal creatures, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, and laughs. I love this series. 4.5 stars.

James Patrick Cronin did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.
