I loved every minute of this!

Sebastian moves his three kids to Sailport Bay for the summer to help his children heal and recover from his divorce and all the ugly that came with it. He’s close to his new business partners as well and has the support of a fabulous bunch of characters in their new town. Rowan is assigned as his temporary nanny. Sebastian and Rowan were friends as kids when they attended the same summer camp. They’ve led very different lives since parting, and I was captivated as their histories were revealed.

Rowan has a nomad nature and never stays anywhere long enough to get close to people. She’s always looking forward to the next thing. She truly feels like she doesn’t know how to love but her actions say otherwise. She’s a natural born nurturer and helper. She’s constantly putting the needs and feelings of others before herself. Her relationship with Sebastian’s kids is heartwarming.
Sebastian will do anything to protect his kids, and you feel his frustration when he’s unable to help his children or take away their pain. He’s so sweet in his approach to show Rowan the benefits of staying and his patience is second to none while he breaks through her need to run.

Aaron Shedlock and Lily Winters brought this story home with their narration. Aaron was fantastic as the protective, patient, doting father who carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. Lila embodied all facets of Rowan, the woman who craves connections but is so haunted by her history that all she knows is how to run.

This book has it all. It has the heart, humor, emotion, corporate shenanigans, and a town full of people that are its own character. Plus, this is one of the best stories of found family and I’m a sucker for that. I can’t wait until the next book.

I really enjoyed listening to Late Nights and Love Lines. Aaron Shedlock and Lila Winters were wonderful bringing the characters and this emotional story to life.
