What’s a girl have to do to lose her virginity around here?

When I decided to ditch my V-card, I figured Greek Row was a sure thing.

I didn’t count on Cooper-the-cockblocking-jockhole-DeLaurentis or his misguided sense of bro code putting an embarrassing end to my hookup. After all, Waverly’s star wide receiver is the most notorious player on campus.

He’s arrogant. Infuriating. Sexy as hell.

Just ask him.

Worse? He’s made it his personal mission to scare off every guy who shows an interest in me. But I’m not about to be outwitted by a hypocritical baller with more ego than sense. I may be a hot mess, but I’m no pushover.

Two can play this game, and I’m playing to win. Welcome to the cockblockalypse...

Great RomCom!

I am normally not one for the virgin trope but this is not your typical spin on it. I love how this story gets right in with lots of laugh out loud moments. Quinn is his frat brothers firecracker little sister and Cooper is a playboy and has made it his personal mission to cockblock her as she continuously tries to lose her vCard. Wrong number texting and some Star Wars banter are just the start for these two. Things escalate as their chemistry continues to go off the charts bringing them to the point where their FWB type of relationship needs evaluation before they get even deeper in. There is some domestic abuse with side characters the two have to navigate around that may be slightly triggering to some but the two MMC’s do have an HEA.

The narrators did a great job bringing this story to life especially when hitting the punchlines.

Catching Quinn

ALC Audiobook Review
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Catching Quinn is the second book in the Waverly Wildcats series. Cooper and Quinn could not be more different. Cooper is a party Frat boy who doesn’t believe in relationships. Quinn is quirky and accident prone. Quinn’s brother is in the same Frat as Cooper. Their first interaction was at a Frat party. Quinn was determined to loose her “V” card. Cooper was down for a hook-up. Cooper saw a head of fiery red hair making out with one of his Frat brothers. Noah being his best friend, Cooper made it his job to put a stop to anything going further between Quinn and his Frat brother. This book is full of whitty banter. Can’t wait for the next book.

Lucy Rivers and James Cassidy did a fantastic job narrating this book.

Funny and angsty

Catching Quinn is the second book in the Waverly Wildcats series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Quinn was a little geeky and clumsy, but I loved how straightforward she was. And she never gave up on her…main goal, despite the many setbacks thanks to Cooper.

Cooper was very flirty and playful. And he was a well-known playboy. But once he started “helping” Quinn, she was it for him.

These two had such great banter and chemistry. And I loved that they were both a little nerdy.

This was funny, but it was also emotional and angsty. It was a great story, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Narration Style: Dual

The narrators were fantastic.

Quinn-tastic & Super Cooper! Fabulous Story & Narration🎧

Jennifer Bonds pens another fantastic novel, a sports romance novel that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. This second book of her “Waverly Wildcats” series is Cooper and Quinn’s story, and their story stands on its own, though the first book, “Claiming Carter” is just as amazing and not to be missed. Quinn, a college student at Waverly, is on a mission to lose her “V” card, and since all prior attempts failed, she is determined to make it happen. She settled on who she was picking up at the frat party and was close to making it happen, but her brother’s friend and frat brother disrupted and stopped it from happening. Cooper DeLaurentis had scored his own pickup for the night and he was not even sure what got into him or why he needed to save his friend’s sister, but he did and then removed her from the frat house. This is the start of their love/hate or hate/love relationship, and I loved how they bonked heads then and the next times they run into each other. Cooper is not a relationship person, and he does not do V cards, but that did not stop him from being drawn to her and then stopping her from going with anyone else. These two were great together and for each other, despite not knowing that at first, I loved watching their relationship deepen and grow. This is a multilayered story and has the perfect balance of drama, including family drama, heartfelt emotions, humor via witty dialogue and fun times, heartwarming moments and steamy romance. And like the fist book, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development, characters who are complex and solid. What was driving Cooper and what he wanted for his mother both warmed my heart and broke it. Jennifer Bonds, thanks for another delightfully fabulous story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride. BTW, the Quinn’isms were amazing, so yes, Quinn-tastic is fitting and so is super Cooper!

🎧📚🎧 Jennifer Bonds chose the perfect cast to bring characters to life and portray them. James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers are talented voice artists and they did a fabulous job voicing the characters, humanizing them with the personality and emotions. Rivers nailed it as Quinn, showcasing every aspect of her personality and demeanor, including her frustrations, her strength and determination. She was a natural with the witty dialogue, too. Cassidy was just as amazing in Cooper’s role and showcased his personality perfectly, swoon worthy and all. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the side/secondary characters, too. Their pacing and tone were just right for the story and their performance elevates the already fabulous story to another level. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

I loved this couple!

Quinn is a 19 y.o. woman on a mission - to lose her virginity of her own accord. She is tired of waiting around for the right man or the special moment, she just wants to be rid of the burden the title carries and experience what everyone else around keeps hyping up. She is at a frat party, which happens to be the fraternity of her older brother, so as determined as she is, it won't be easy with so many of the guys aware of who she is. So when she finds an unsuspecting guy who isn't aware of her identity she takes advantage of the opportunity and makes her move. But when Cooper, her brother's best friend and the biggest playboy on campus notices what is happening, he makes it his mission to stop them.

After her plans are foiled, she word vomits her truth to Cooper and he is shocked by the information, but decides that its his brotherly obligation to keep cock-blocking her until she comes to her senses and waits for the right guy. Time and again they intercept each other's conquests until they end up spending more time together than they realized and a spark is ignited between them. They start to care for each other and as their relationship progresses they start to become invested and share their secrets and desires with one another. I don't want to give too much plot away, but I will say they both grow and mature in different ways but they bring out the best in each other. They seem like opposites in the beginning but they have so much more in common than they realize and it leads to a relationship that is put to the test but ultimately builds a strong foundations for a lasting love. I loved the character development from both characters in this story that made for a rewarding HEA.

Lucy Rivers and James Cassidy were *CHEF'S KISS*!! I have listened to Lucy's work before but its been a minute and I absolutely loved coming back for more. From Quinn's clutziness to her moments of strength and conviction, Lucy did her journey justice in this performance. James Cassidy is new to me and WOW... JUST WOW. I could listen to this man read me the label on the back of a milk jug and I'd still melt into a complete puddle. I cannot wait to run into his work again!

Fun Sports Romance

Catching Quinn is the second book in the Waverly Wildcats series. I loved Quinn and Cooper's story and was completely invested from the start. Quinn is a student at Waverly University and is determined to lose her V-card. She decides to find someone to help her with this task at a frat party. Cooper is a star wide receiver on the university's football team and a member of the fraternity hosting the party. Realizing Quinn is his teammate's sister, Cooper keeps her from making a huge mistake at the party. Quinn, of course, is less than thrilled. Cooper is intrigued by Quinn, but pursuing her is forbidden and against "bro code". He can't seem to stay away from Quinn and attempts to help preserve her V-card by running off any guys that seem interested. Realizing Quinn won't give up, Cooper decides he has to be the man to give her what she needs.

This is such a fun story! I loved their banter. There were several laugh-out-loud moments. Cooper tries so hard to fight it, but he is down bad for Quinn. Their chemistry was sizzling and I loved how he made sure Quinn was comfortable with every move he made. When things started to heat up, they were HOT! Cooper has a filthy mouth and aims to please. This story is mostly lighthearted, however there is a subplot that touches on heavier topics involving family dynamics. The moments with Cooper's family give more insight into why Cooper has sworn off relationships. Being with Quinn helped Cooper see he is his own person and absolutely deserving of love. I really enjoyed this story and it left me with a huge smile on my face.

Narration:
Lucy Rivers and James Cassidy perform this audiobook using dual-style narration. They both did a wonderful job with these characters and brought them to life in the best way. This was my first experience listening to James Cassidy and I was highly impressed with his voice acting. Lucy was the perfect voice for Quinn and effortlessly portrayed her quirkiness, determination, and vulnerability. This was a fun listening experience and I highly recommend the audiobook.

4.5 ⭐️

Trigger warning: domestic abuse.

I loved this book! Quinn was a walking disaster, but her sexploits while trying to lose her virginity were hilarious. She was sassy and not afraid to dish out some serious disses, and was a great sport when she got dissed right back. Cooper was such a good guy despite his reputation, and genuinely had Quinn’s best interests at heart the whole book. Their chemistry was so good, and the spice was the perfect level considering there were darker themes woven in the story.

Cooper was incredibly caring and protective of his mom - the portrayals of domestic abuse against her had my heart truly aching for them both. The end didn’t have the resolution I was expecting for that plot line, but it was very realistic, which I think readers need to see.

The audiobook narration by James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers was great. James played growly jokester Cooper to a T. Lucy had stellar emotional range for the sadder parts of the book.

Thank you to PinUp Audio for the audiobook ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Good book

We got the pleasure of meeting Cooper in book one and I enjoyed him then and I enjoyed him more in this book. His need to keep Quinn from others is so delightful. A shy virgin FMC who decide its time and a MMC who decide he has to be the one, but first he has to offer his services and she agrees let the madness commence. The narrators brought the banter to life. James has the perfect voice for Coop he sounded exactly like I heard him in my head. Lucy brought Quinn angst to life amazing duet.

Funny & Angsty College Football Romance

𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐧 is the 2nd book in the Waverly Wildcats series by Jennifer Bonds, featuring a funny and angsty brother’s best friend, secret hook-up romance for Quinn and Cooper. Quinn never imagined cashing in her V-card would be so difficult, but between her quirky mishaps and playboy Cooper’s interference, she’s at her wit’s end! Maybe the solution to her quest has been in front of her all along. What could possibly go wrong?

I loved Quinn’s quick wit and nerdy personality, and the feisty banter that she and Cooper tossed back and forth was so much fun! She was like Murphy’s Law personified, and I was here for it! I am a sucker for a playboy who gets bowled over by that one special girl who changes his entire perspective. Cooper’s evolution in this book was fantastic to watch! And boy, did they generate some spicy chemistry and heat as the book progressed! The teammates and friends were hilarious and bolstered the lighthearted aspect of the story. I was pleasantly surprised by the emotional depth that developed as well, leading to some dramatic surprises that had me in my feelings.

The audio version was narrated by James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers, who both elevated story to another level, as they nailed the comedy, the romance, and the emotional moments. Lucy is always great, but I’d never heard James before, and he had truly had me under his spell!

I received an ACX for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
