Meh...

Not my favorite. I struggled to finish this one. I felt like it was a ton of narrating jabber and lots of jumping around. I didn't feel like a whole lot happened.

Not my kind of story

While I thought the narrator did a fine job with different voices, etc., I never liked any of the characters and felt the story was predictable and boring. I don't know why I listened until the end.

Well, at least the narrator was good.

Too long and sometimes confusing. maybe if it didn't drag on and get so depressing it would be pretty good.

not a bad story , but it was slow to build . I had a hard time keeping up with all the friend groups at times.

This was such a fun book. Exactly what I love to read. New York, friends, fashion, and exciting mystery.

A Sharp, Well-Written Mystery

Rarely have I listened to a book so consistently; this was worth every minute of fourteen hours. Not only did I need to know what was going to happen, and how things would resolve themselves, but I was completely drawn in by the characters, who are beautifully three-dimensional, tragic, funny, and, most of all, real. After the book was over, I found myself still thinking about Lulu, Maxie, Will, Yael, Rob, and Alex; I wanted to continue to interact with them. Beyond that, the narration is very well-executed, and the writing is astounding. A strong debut novel.

Could’ve been shorter

I liked the story but the individual character chapters were overkill. This book could’ve been 30% shorter by reducing or removing back story on the characters. Also didn’t need the last chapter on “where they are now.”

A truly addictive mystery

My first experience with an audiobook and I was not let down. Berman knows how to put together a set of characters that are as interesting as they are mysterious, paired with a storyline that keeps you on your toes. I listened to this at every spare minute I had and it was never enough! Would definitely recommend to lovers of thrillers.
