Love this world!

This series is fantastic! I love the intricacies and politics of mystic vs human worlds. The mystic society has a very detailed caste system. Can’t wait for the next novel!

another amazing novel by an amazing author!

I must say that I'm truly absolutely LOVING this series so far! As the plot thickens it's just getting more and more interesting as to what will become or Heiress Dame Grier Woolworth- the last in her family line who was apparently (I say, "apparently," that bc Grier hasn't exactly been told yet the 100% truth of what exactly happened, as in play by play, on that fateful night that sealed Grier's fate for the next 5years to be spent with only utter fear and sheerr hopelessness to keep her company in this 24/7 dark supernatural dank prison -that no one (except for our Grier,) ever leaves! btw I would TOTALLY be dissociating hardcore too if I was in this seemingly hellish place! I for one cannot wait to hear what exactly happened. I'm also ENTHRALLED by the storylines that are all going on in this mega brilliant audiobook series and I shall be immediately pressing play for book #3 as soon s 8 hit submit on this review. what I will also tell you for those who do not know; something IMPORTANT -this series actually is intertwined with another: "The Redemption Of Boaz Pritchard," which atm is also in the Audible Prem. Plus catalog & if you click on that series - as in whwn u want to see for example, how many novels ls are in a series & their names- when u click and have a look it will show you the correct READING/LISTENING order to these intertwined series , bc idk about u but I cannot abide missing out books from series that have intermingling story lines with another series by the same author. anyway just a wee tip for y'all and enjoy bc I most definitely am!!
however I am wondering though 🤔 if I'm normal or not bc even tho so far as we have been told so far, Linus Lawson would be Grier's cousin as the deceased, "Aunt Maude Woolworth," &Linus's bi5chy

Things are getting interesting....

I liked this book a whole lot more than the first book. We are seeing Grier's life do a 180 degree turn around as she is now "reinstated" and has become the Dame Woolworth. I'm still a little annoyed that she is not more upset with what happened to her and is not wanting to find out the reasons for her torturous experience, but that's just me.

I am beginning to really like Linus. For some reason, Boaz just seems. I don't know....slimy...to me. Maybe I'm wrong, but he seems like he likes the game more than the actual girl, but I could be wrong. Linus on the other hand seems so very sincere and there are hints that lead me to believe that he may have had feelings for Grier for quite a long time....but we will see. I could be wrong.

I also liked the story arc with this book and especially enjoyed getting to meet Oscar and seeing what her magic could do. There was a HUGE shocker at the end and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Let me just say that NOW the whole Potentate of Atlanta storyline is beginning to make total sense....who knew?

Rebecca Mitchell has been the narrator of the first two books and I have enjoyed her narration.

I think I'm hooked now so I've got to go because the next book is waiting.

Surprised

In this book Greer is trying to find/stop someone who are sucking the energy from ghosts and vampires. I was VERY surprised in the end to know who it was. The characters in these books are so relatable and I want Greer to find happiness in someone she can trust. I do not want her with Boaz though. All in all another highly entertaining installment in this series.

narrator is annoying, story is pretty good

narrator is annoying but the story is pretty good. I think it's one of those that probably gets better as the series moves forward.

terrible reader

I enjoyed this story but had to go back to reading it on my Kindle because the reader was quite poor. Every accent she did was exactly the same and it was bizarrely Russian sounding. A woman from India, an older Cajun woman etc all sounded like a Russian man.

Really good story

The protagonist does the best she can imagine. When she lets her innate abilities flow, she creates sparks. Other characters are well developed too. This is a solid story. And, an interesting supernatural world.

A great match

The producers of this series found a perfect match of story, reader and writer. The author takes the story line and weaves an intriguing tale that keep the reader interested and reaching for more. Great characters, and settings.

Kind and Gentle Fun and exciting

if you enjoy fantasy, magic and some drama, you'll enjoy this series. Hailey is a great author that keeps you interested.

Another solid installment

I'm really enjoying this series. It has enough action to keep me engaged, but not so much that I cant multitask while I listen.
