It's the beginning of December in Rudolph, New York, America's Christmas Town, and business is brisk at Mrs. Claus's Treasures, a gift and decor shop owned by Merry Wilkinson. The local amateur dramatic society is intensely preparing a special musical production of A Christmas Carol. But it's not a happy set, as rivalries between cast and crew threaten the production.

Tensions come to a head when a member of the group is found dead shortly after a shopping excursion to Mrs. Claus's Treasures. Was someone looking to cut out the competition? Everyone in the cast and crew is a potential suspect, including Aline, Merry's mother, and Merry's shop assistant Jackie O'Reilly, who was desperate for a starring role.

It could be curtains for Christmas—and for Merry—unless the killer can be ferreted out of the wings.

This is an entertaining cozy mystery with engaging characters and an entertaining plot. I look forward to the next book.

Get someone who can read

This book s story was normal for this series. Nothing really special. Delany’s other series are better. She needs to cut out about half of the “what ifs”, drives me nuts. Oh my gosh Pearlman has to be one of the worse readers out there. It’s painful to listen to her stunted reading and lack of range for the different characters.

Please fire Jackie

The narrator is horrible! And Jackie should have been fired ages ago. The book itself is good but between Jackie and the narrator being unsuitable for the characters espically Elieen it was hard to enjoy the book.

Disappointed With the New Narrator

I enjoy the story line, characters, and the goings on in Rudolph. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the new reader’s performance. I felt she made many of the ongoing characters in the book seem angry. If this was my first book to read having this narrator, I might not have minded it as much, but after listening to all the books before this one I was used to the voices of the characters.

Great series

The Year-Round Christmas Murders series is a great collection. I recently found them and listened to all 6 within a week. This last book was hampered by a change in narrator. This made it harder to follow along because of the different voices and how they pronounced some of the characters names.

I miss Amy.

Amy had the perfect voice for the characters. Now the detective always sounds mad instead of professional. And Merry sounds never merry or nice. I couldn’t finish the book. I really tried.
