In “He Speaks Through Prayer And Fasting, pastor and author Charles Morris answers the following questions.
How does “He Speak” to us through prayer and fasting?
How do we know when God is speaking to us through prayer?
How can we recognize the voice of the God in prayer?
How Do I hear God’s Voice?
What happens spiritually when you pray and fast?
What is the role of fasting in hearing God’s voice?
Because the Father uses many ways to speak to His children, we should be careful not to miss Him because the mode of delivery might not fit our theology, previous experiences, or our lack of experiences. There are “NOT GOD” voices, and then the Father’s voice. The Father uses many ways to speak to His children.
Some believers have the paradigm that God speaks only by way of His Word or through preachers. The Father speaks to us today in many different ways. One way He Speaks is through the prayer and fasting. Jesus made a profound promise to us. He said His sheep would hear His voice and follow Him.
Embedded within the character of prayer and fasting lies a ministry crafted to guide, illuminate, and enlighten the hearts and minds of believers. Among the many responsibilities of the Father when we pray and fast is His sacred duty to illuminate His voice and will for our lives. Prayer and fasting is an avenue for us to hear the gentle, still voice, guiding us in God’s words and prompting us to discern divine opportunities woven into the fabric of our lives.
Those who are spiritually hard of hearing and attuned to the world and the “NOT GOD” voices will find prayer and fasting a challenge. However, if we press through, buffet the desires of the flesh, and seek the Father in prayer and fasting we will hear the Father’s voice as He Speaks.
The Father loves nudging us along, speaking quietly to our hearts through the discipline of prayer and fasting. The heavenly Father speaking to us quietly through gentle impressions, thoughts, or feelings can be rewarding and filled with ministry opportunities.
