Dr. Carly Cambridge, wildlife biologist, returns to the Texas Gulf Coast to manage the latest Habitats for Nature project, restoring the woods and wetlands to their natural state. She is devoted to the environmental cause with a passion usually reserved for a lover - something she hasn't had since a disastrous love affair 10 years earlier. Having sworn off women and relationships, Carly is perfectly content to live her life alone while she focuses on her latest project.

Wildlife photographer Pat Ryan is duped into volunteering her talents to the Habitats For Nature cause, but she wants no part of the overzealous Dr. Cambridge.

While they spend most of their time sparring and bickering, an early season hurricane finds them fighting nature - instead of each other - to save the wetlands and the birds that brought them together.

Soon Carly finds her heart opening, little by little, and struggles to ignore the feelings that are growing between them. And Pat, always searching for that certain someone to take her breath away, can't believe for a moment that the woman she's been waiting for could possibly be Carly.

Another Great Love story

I enjoyed this story for many reasons- the first being the characters and their work. I have been to this area of Texas and I could envision the drives, the conversations and the restaurants easily. The storm scene was very real to me as well. The past experiences with family and relationships were heartbreaking sadly realistic. I love GH books so much

A Gulf Romance

I love stories based in the wonders of nature. Carly is restoring a natural habitat on the Gulf. Pat is a wild life photographer volunteered by her aunt to help photograph the project for fundraising brochures. It love at first sight. Great performance and story. Recommend.

Narrator is always great!

I really liked this story. The characters fall for each other in a story book way.

Gerri Hill Favorite

This book has become one of my new favorites from Gerri Hill! Abbey Craden nailed her performance of course, but this storyline was was new and it had a touch of something different. I don’t know why I waited so long to get this one!!

A wonderful story, well written by one of the best lesbian writers and an amazing narration by one of the best narrators (if not the best one). What can you ask for more...

Outstanding!

I loved the tension between Pat and Carly, but the dialogue… So fantastically written. The sparring matches between the two were fun and natural. It’s a book I didn’t want to end. And don’t even get me started on Abby Craden’s narration. *Purr*

Heartfelt and Funny

Great story with great characters. I will definitely be listening to this again. Funny and heartwarming with a bit of steaminess.

Abby Craden + Gerri Hill = buy every time!

This was a really fun story. Light and lighthearted. The back and forth between the two MCs had me laughing out loud. And, let me tell you, Abby Craden has ruined me for almost all other narrators! She does such a phenomenal job portraying the characters. I have a hard time now, listening to a book if she’s not narrating. Abby Craden, would you please narrate my life? And all my favorite lesbian romances? Please!
