Most dads in this audiobook found themselves in a state of physical, mental, and emotional collapse after the death of their child. As if the losses alone weren’t enough to drive these men to the brink, most try to deal with their grief according to the conventional wisdom so many men are brought up with, which perversely, increases their suffering all the more. We all know the party line about how men are "supposed" to deal with loss or even disappointment: toughen up, get back to work, take it like a man, support your wife, don’t talk about your emotions, don’t lose control, and if you must cry - by all means, do so in private.

this has been a good look and refreshing view on how father's grief is dealt with and my experience falls into normal and presents a bit of positive outcome from a disaster

A must read for any father that has lost a child

This will give you a guideline on where you COULD be one day, faith & hope that all of us unfortunate dad's in this terrible club so desperately need just to survive each minute of everyday.

A must read for any father that has lost a child

Unfortunately, like me, if your part of an awful club where your child has passed away and your a father. This book is raw and exactly what a grieving father needs for help. You will not find hardly any books related to dealing with grief if you were a father and have lost a child. I plan on listening to this again. If you are a father, and you have lost your child, stop reading this review, and download the book now.

Powerful

This book was just what I needed. It will never bring back my son but it did give me a sense of comfort. It's strange and sad finding comfort in a group of people that know what you are going through. Highly recommend this book.

Wish I hadn’t waited so long to listen to

A must read for any grieving father, no matter how long in the grieving process. Actually, for me, 7 months have passed, before listening. I might’ve not been so open to listening to the book early on. All about timing I guess.
