Acerca de esta escucha
Grief Day by Day offers supportive readings and exercises to help you move through life after loss, one day at a time.
Grief is complex. It is ever changing and may come to us differently on any given day. Grief Day by Day offers reflections and practices that address the day-to-day feelings that accompany the ever changing process of grief.
In Grief Day by Day, Jan Warner draws on her own extensive experience and the experiences of the 2 million followers on her Grief Speaks Out Facebook page to offer hope in its most practical form. This audiobook does not look to offer a solution to grief. Rather, it provides supportive, useful guidance to help you create a life in which peace, and even gratitude, can coexist with your grief.
There is no “right way” to grieve, and there is no right way to use this book. Whether you follow it word by word, or select that which seems most relevant to you at the moment, how you use this audiobook is less important than why you are using it. You’re using this audiobook because you have chosen to honor your experience, to make a home for your grief, and to find a new way of living on the bridge between loss and life.

Historia
On Death and Dying began as a theoretical book, an interdisciplinary study of our fear of death and our inevitable acceptance of it. It introduced the world to the now-famous five stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. On Grief and Grieving applies these stages to the process of grieving and weaves together theory, inspiration, and practical advice, all based on Kübler-Ross' and Kessler's professional and personal experiences.

When you’re in the midst of suffering, you want answers for the unanswerable, resolutions to the unresolvable. But there is a pathway through this suffering. It’s not easy, but God will use it to lead you toward healing. This path is called lament. In the midst of your darkest times, you will discover that lament leads you back to a place of hope - not because lamenting does anything magical, but because God sings a louder song than suffering ever could, a song of renewal and restoration.

The need for change as we get older - an emotional pressure for one phase of our lives to transition into another - is a human phenomenon, neither male nor female. There simply comes a time in our lives - not fundamentally different from the way puberty separates childhood from adulthood - when it's time for one part of ourselves to die and for something new to be born.

When social worker Lisa Keefauver became a widow in 2011, she was alarmed to discover that even though 100 percent of us experience loss, we’re living in a grief illiterate world. In her work as a therapist and in her search for help in the wake of her own loss, Keefauver began to see how the misguided stories we consume about grief lead to unnecessary suffering. Responding to the problematic narratives that grief is something to move on from after completing the five stages like some sort of to-do list, Keefauver became a grief activist.

When a loved one dies, the pain of loss can feel unbearable—especially in the case of a traumatizing death that leaves us shouting, “NO!” with every fiber of our body. The process of grieving can feel wild and nonlinear—and often lasts for much longer than other people, the nonbereaved, tell us it should. Organized into fifty-two short chapters, Bearing the Unbearable is a companion for life’s most difficult times, revealing how grief can open our hearts to connection, compassion, and the very essence of our shared humanity.

Is grief day-by-day
I Was searching desperately for help in my grief after the loss of my husband of 50 years died suddenly from a heart attack.. We Were both ministers in the gospel. In this book I found so much help not every chapter I could use, So I would pick. and I and chose ,The chapters that would help me.. I called some of them faith chapters even though the word God was never used she gave me hope, That I could live without my husband , But I could keep him in my heart and take him wherever I wanted to go he would always be with me,I could live with my faith in God I could live again, But it would be different ,but I could do it.... after over a year and a 1/2 of having this book in my library, I still go back and listen , And I guess I'll always go back and listen,, I believe grief is a day-by-day journey, With my faith, And hope,

Helpful
When my husband died, I wanted to be engaged with my grief in ways that are healthy and practical. This book helped me tap into grief. associated feelings and it helped me communicate with family & friends about my grief journey. I wanted time on my own with my own thoughts and feelings to do this, not in the context of a support group. This book on Audbile enabled me to face my grief in managed time on walks in nature with my dogs, commuting to & from work, etc. I would recommend this to anyone who has lost a loved one and wants to work through their grief journey in a guided sort of fashion. I will re-listen over time on my grief journey.

Addictive & Uplifting
I thoroughly enjoyed this as it kept me riveted throughout another sleepless night.
In all these beautiful quotes, thoughts and exercises was inspiration to craft a new multimedia version of a grief journal.
Thank you!

Excellent read....wonderful validation!
Cannot recommend this more highly....was of invaluable help to me during the most painful and trying of times . When so many of the folks in my life absented themselves and left me feeling so bereft...along came Jan Warner and her wonderful supportive group of fellow travelers that have given me the courage to continue day to day with a better sense of purpose and self.
I will continue to listen (the narration is also excellent) a little every day as I walk to feel the comfort and support so generously given....thank you Jan.

Grief By Day
I found this book very helpful. Of course in my present state of mind, I am not able to maintain much. Several chapters were speaking of my grief, but my husband died suddenly or quickly. I haven’t came to grips with his death.

A Breath of Fresh Air
I love this book. It tells the story of grief. You realize your feelings are universal. The author did a great job. She renders a blessing to those grieving. The narrator gave the book so much life. I laughed at the frankness because I recognize myself. I need to own the book. So many little gems.
