Best villain i have read

Great story first book was hard to stick with but I’m so glad I did!

Well worth the wait, more entertaining and Fantastic narration.

-First off the narrators did a FANTASTIC job with this one especially the last few chapters. I love how they actually put emotion and inflection while they are reading. Very well done.

I am so proud of Auren in this one. I'm happy with how this progressed and there was a lot more going on in this book than the others.
I loved the epilogue at the end with Slades POV, I am so happy the author did that because I was dying to know.

The first sex scene....I don't get it. The time and place after her emotional openness just didn't make sense. It almost seemed rushed like it had to happen. I'm all for the alpha male, love it actually but I don't think for their first time, after what she said to him about always being used for her body and sharing her insecurities...should this have been the time for the rough domineering, controlling, overly dirty talk type of sex. I expected a little more out of Slade for their first time together. Especially when she still wanted him to prove that she could trust him.
Don't get me wrong it was still hot...but I don't think it fit the character's relationship development at that specific time.

Also could it be my personal opinion but I hate when he calls her "baby". It sounds so misogynistic. And not how he should be treating someone as precious as he claims she is to him. I felt he should have used a more endearing term or stuck with Goldfinch.

The voices!

The performance factor is amazing! The MMC and FMC do an incredible job conveying emotion.

The saga continues!

The story is really coming together now! Lots of character development and a bit more world building. The author did a great job painting Midas as a POS and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. The story is captivating although I would check trigger warnings as there are still quite a few.

Definitely the best in the series so far! The storyline is so captivating and I couldn’t stop listening! The best spice in the middle with plenty of meat to the characters and plot to keep it captivating. Obsessed with this series!
