Oh, the twisted webs we weave....

The narration for this book was just absolutely stellar. I've listened to many books with these two narrators, but the emotion in this brought their craft to the next level. Man, this book was such a bummer. I have the romantic heart Cecelia is plagued with and it was rough at times when being told how not everyone gets that happy ending, seeing her trapped in the past by love, and being tormented in the present by it. The complicated story that unfolds as the book goes on is a mind**** to be sure, and while an amazing story, it's also depressing as heck at some parts! The emotional rollercoaster this woman is on reminds me of certain points in my life, where you just feel absolutely ravaged and gutted by love, like it has taken every bit of your soul and stomped it into dust until there's nothing left to give. But while women that have that romantic heart may be crushed by it, they're also all the stronger for it and Cecelia embodies that strength as well. Although he attempts to reinvent herself seem to be in vain, she gains knowledge and understanding of herself and the people she cares for through each evolution of herself. Tobias makes me want to scream and crack him up the head a few times to get his mind right, but Cecelia better end up happy with this man by the end or I swear, I'll riot. After all the talk about and stories of people not getting their happy love story ending in this series, the main character deserves and needs it in her story. I can't wait to see that happen so my pathetic romantic heart can relax in the solace that while love doesn't always conquer against the odds, sometimes it does.

This book had me CRYING. Beautifully written, beautifully performed. I am in love with this series and I don't want it to end.

What a rollercoaster!!

I have literally never been so emotionally affected by a book in my life!!! I'm awed by Kate's writing, I did not see any of it coming. I'm emotionally drained from these books in the best way.

Joe and Maxine’s narrative of this book is so amazing! The way they blend together seamlessly interweaving is a true work of art. I’m so impressed!

this series was amazing. this series is the kind of series that I wish that they can make into movies!!! hands down one of the best books I've ever listened to!!!

Tragically Good

This book broke my heart while reading it & I wasn’t expecting that after the 1st. I can’t even count the amount of times I cried.😭 That’s not something I usually look for in a listen but this story was beautifully written, narrated, & tragic. I’m happy I listened.

You Maxine and Joe deserve a Oscar fir this performance. Your narration of this exquisite, painful wonderland was everything and more.

I haven’t cried like this in a very long time. These characters will live with me forever .
