Title doesn’t match the story
It was a good book. It had a lot of intrigue and kept my interest. But why it’s titled Cruel & Usual I don’t understand because for its genre, it wasn’t that cruel or unusual.

well written. well performed
I always loved the book since the 90s. CJ Critt was fantastic with the voices overall ( minus the Benton Wesley- I didnt care for that interpretation). Listening to the book after having read it many times, was wonderful.

Hooked on this series
I'm quite "late to the party" since this series was started in 1990, but I'm loving them. I started with book 1 and have just finished book 4 a week later. I'm glad to see she isn't almost killed every book.... really like her two "sidekick" characters, Lucy and Marino.

Another Winner
Another winner for Kay Scarpetta. Fingerprints at the scene of an executed convict. Fingers pointing at Kay as a logical suspect. Niece Lucy gets the chance to help solve the case. This one had lots of twist and turns that kept you guessing to the end. Love this series.

One of my favorite one!
