Good start

It's what we all want to do is take our favorite Sci Fi tv shows and mash it all together with a little of imaginative story telling and write a series of books, saving the earth to fight another day. If you liked Star trek and Battle Star Galatica you will find this familiar and relatable.

Good charactors, lottsa action, thrilling battles. It's a good book, but not my cup of tea. Not enough science for me and I prefer more possibility exploration. Show me something new. Shucks, lemme try book two...

Good book

I've seen a lot of reviewers compare this book to Battle Star Galactica. And, while there are some basic comparisons, I wouldn't say this book is the same as Battle Star. For one thing, there isn't an old ship leading a group of civilians through deep space. For another, there isn't a huge emphasis on fighter combat. More basic fighter cover, then anything else.

The enemy is an interesting one. I don't think anyone has done this type of enemy before.

There were a few moments where I felt for the characters. And I was easily able to identify with them, not many books manage that.

If your into SciFi novels, then I would highly recommend this book.

Good audio book for a beginning of the trilogy

This audiobook has good. I didn't give 5/5 start rating as it started a bit slow, but that's probably just me - I like story to the bone. It is not too slow like Duel in the dark, where you could die before something happens. The narrator is good as well. Can probably lesser the merging of the words, but otherwise - great performance.

So in general - I recommend this book. You will enjoy good sci-fi and the next two books are such a great fun!

Several at Once

A good story. It is essentially the show Battlestar Galactica meets the game Freelancer. Narrator could sound more excited though... He did well but a little more variation would be nice.

The Right Stuff...

It turns out old-school is sometimes the right stuff to win the day, this story proves it. Plus this was exactly what I really needed to read... A good Space Opera, and Constitution fills the bill admirably... I loved it... battling against the odds Captain Granger takes his ship back out of retirement and joins the fight... I can guarantee that your gonna be on the edge of your seat in this fast action book.

Battlestar Galactica with a twist.

Story plays out must like Battlestar with a political conspiracy in the background. Voice acting is solid, but a few characters sound so similar it's hard to keep tack in a couple of parts. Recommend this to anyone a fan of Galactica.

Pulp Western set in space?

I found this tale entertaining for a bit, but after a while it was just more of the same stuff. The characters are extremely one-dimensional and the story is predictable. This novel is more like a long comic book without any illustrations. I prefer my sci-fi with little more depth.
