This is much more interesting. For those genuinely interested in the history of Greece and Rome, its republic, and then its dictators, and its ultimate fall, I recommend this as a better starting place than the classic audible.

The best guidebook to the ancient

This book is a must for anyone who intends more than a superficial few hours in Rome, not on a tourist bus, but by driving the winding streets of Rome with a bottle of water, a good pair of walking shoes, and this book as your guide.
