Concise Book

Indeed, concise. And that's exactly what I was looking for. I like history and mythology, and I am always looking for lectures or podcasts for their brevity. I've never thought that I would find it in a book. Chapeau!!!

Great Search

Great information. I am learning more about the Vikings than that they were just fearless fighters.

The Best

I want to begin by saying that this is a very good book. The author provides a small library of sources/continued reading and to say this is an information dense book is to vastly understate the matter.

Good One

If you are not familiar with northern European Languages Old Norse place names can be a little tough, but it's an easy in from a great author who knows her subject.

Interesting but repetitive

Definitely learned some new info but a lot of this book is very repetitive. There are several parts of the story that are repeated numerous times for no apparent reason. The person reading in the first half also sounds very robotic. Given these reasons, it was tough to stay interested but I eventually made it through to the end.

This is what i needed

I just want to say, if you're genuinely interested in Scandinavian history, I can hardly think of a better book for jumping in.

Concise and Compiling

I enjoyed learning about the Viking civilization from a master historian. I appreciate this effort and would like to recommend it.
