Weird narration

instead of using the two narrators to split up between the male and female characters, they decided to do a weird thing where they take turns when the chapter changes focus on a character....... if you plan to take on multiple narrators then have them fill the roles entirely not only partly

Did not use the 2 narrator's to the fullest

It mostly had the Male narrator doing all the roles but for a few chapters hopefully they work to gether better in the next book

Interesting story but...

This is a interesting story with a great premise, but the narration style made hard to finish.

One of the beat audio performances I hear in a long time

I love the way the readers broke up the voices. Many good story’s like this leave you lost due to the number of characters. I wish more books did it this way.

Hell yeah!!

A different take on the “transported to another world” trope as the MC willingly travels there. My only issue with this book is the narration. When you think of dual narration, you think of a guy doing the guy parts and the girl doing the girl parts. That’s not what happens here. Andrea only narrates maybe 3 chapters in the book. While she and J.F. are amazing narrators in their own right, the direction this books takes from that standpoint could have been better.

Now, let’s get to what’s GOOD about the book! Well, to be frank, everything else!! I saw some reviewers saying that after the MC uses his freedom brand on the women he rescues, they now become, essentially, slaves to his will. This couldn’t be further from the truth. They each have a choice in what to do with their lives. The fact that they choose to stay with and, yes, love, the MC is of their own free will.

I have long been a fan of Simon Archer’s work and while this one seems lesser compared to other of his works I’m familiar with, it’s no less entertaining.

what was the point ...

The two narrators were great but why not have the male do male voices and the female do female voices? The narrators started a chapter male or female performed to whole chapter, this totally disjointed the story to have a different voice for the same characters just because the narrator was male for one chapter and female for another.

performer is pretty good. I just wish he could pronounce the word "important". Hearing "impordant" repeatedly is like nails on a chalk board.

It's your typical harem fantasy novel

It was pretty entertaining. The narration was weird with the male and female narrators. I was thinking the guy would read the male characters and the woman would read the females. Instead the girl read only 2 random chapters so that didn't make a lot of sense. I also noticed a treand in these type of novels where they try to make weird weapons the main characters. A brand stick should have been maybe a useful magical item but not a main weapon. The sex scenes got graphic out of nowhere, not that it bothered me. I'll check out the rest of the series to see where it goes.

I'm rating this early

I say that to say I really like the book alot just bc of Parsneau.

I really like Mr. Harding but I really wish it was one or the other :/ I dont like this back and forth narrators should have just let Andrea do this one

Good but a bit shallow

Good but a bit shallow. Let’s face it, most men dream of being powerful, capable, confident and competent. They dream of using these qualities to end tyranny and give freedom and choice to those under tyrannical rule. Add in the dream that beautiful, confident and capable women just can’t seem to control their list for the hero…. Well it’s a winning combination of fiction that seldom mid ever manifests itself in real life. It’s the sci-fi James Bond.
With a little more effort to add depth to the individuals of this storybook world….. with a little more effort to err toward reality……. with a little more effort given towards how women actually think and respond to men, yes even the handsome super athlete……. This could be a quite remarkable series.
