Acerca de esta escucha

Daniel Provost is the son of a farmer. Living up to his father's high standards for the farm is very hard work, but his life is basically comfortable and a loving woman is waiting to become his wife. When a well-traveled stranger, bearing a story of Jim Bowie's legendary silver mine, appears at the farm, Daniel might just throw away everything for the chance at adventure he thought had passed him by.

Very very poor narration the story its self was typical Elmer Kelton with time and place

Classic Kelton very poor narration

I would advise listening carefully to the sample to make sure the narrator will hold up over the entire time it takes to finish the book. That's not to say this is a bad reader, but perhaps not a good fit for this particular writer.

Otherwise, I found the story reasonably entertaining and humorous at times.

Not the best narrator

When you’re as prolific as Elmer Kelton, you’re probably going to write a clunker every now and then. Well, here’s one. A silly, underdeveloped plot and silly, contrived characters make this one well worth passing over. I’m surprised I stuck with it to the end.

Subpar Kelton
