Acerca de esta escucha

It begins with a rumor. It ends with a war.

After twelve years lost in deep space, Siena has returned to find her friends surrounded by enemies—and an assassin at her back. She may be the supreme augment, but she will not survive without allies. While Reklin infiltrates a prison planet, and Ero tries to save his disloyal brother, Siena is left with a dangerous collection of outlaw clans. To keep them united, she desperately needs a common threat, and finds it in a rumor of missing Imperial grunts.

Buried beneath whispers of strange soldiers and lost starships lies a classified government program, one that’s using augment technology for a dark purpose. To prove it, Siena will have to steal the evidence from Genysium, a fortified planet where the Empire hides its most dangerous secrets. But not even Siena is prepared for the explosive truth, that missing recruits is just the beginning…

Book 2 of a Military Space Opera series from Ben Hale, #1 Amazon bestselling author of The Augmented. It's perfect for lovers of both Star Wars and Star Trek, as well as fans of authors such as Chris Fox, J.N. Chaney, and Lindsay Buroker.

This series just got better. The growth/maturity of the characters. The love and faith they have in each other didn’t feel cheesy at all. I just love it!

The narrator is horrible. Totally ruins the story. This was the slowest book in the series.

Bad narration

Always a delightful story. I’m fully invested in seeing how this all turns out. Without the augments and the empires fight work would be so boring. Thank you Ben Hale.

Sienna is always capable of changing minds one way or another.

I wish the voice actor had more range between characters. But it's not a deal breaker, he does a great job overall, and there are a lot of characters in play.

The series is so good it leaves you wanting more!

This book is a great continuation of the story with all the main characters, and some very interesting new ones.

Ben Hale's an accomplished author, with enjoyable series such as "Chronicles of Lumineia", "The White Mage Saga" and "The Augmented" which is the one this series proceeds from. While I found book 1 interesting, what with many of the primary characters from the previous series, book 2 found me becoming easily distracted from following the plot. Furthermore, after rewinding to recover what I had allowed to go on distraction-autopilot, I found that I wasn't rewarded the second time around.

There are lots of segmented, small unexciting missions. mostly gearing up to eventually overthrow the Krey Empire. The whole set of chapters involving having Mora going through a boot camp environment to teach her how to control her emotions was, for me, the literary equivalent of fly-over country.

Regrettably, I wasn't willing to finish the book.

Book fails to illicit much interest
